Two Year Update on Planting Queen Palm Trees

My fertilization techniques for my Queen Palms are as follows:
I apply Miracle Grow Shake ‘n’ Feed Palm Food every three months as directed on the container. Between each feeding at around 8 weeks, I apply 4 ounces of Southern AG Palm Nutritional Spray liquid micronutrients to 4 gallons of water to each of my palm trees which is only 50% of recommended feeding as per its container instructions. Miracle Grow Palm fertilizer has the palm’s NPK (or macronutrients) and its needed micronutrients. But to assure my trees are receiving their vital micronutrients, I use Southern AG Palm Spray to lightly feed my trees in between their required full feeding. What is my rational? I have soil that is both sandy and rocky. As a result, it drains relatively quickly which means nutrients can flow below their roots, making them theoretically out of reach. Therefore, I use Southern AG as backup insurance for getting micronutrients onto their roots.
(Finally, in mid-spring after the rains, I add an acidifier made by Espoma. I use about one-half cup to keep the trees’ soil pH around 6.5)

It's not about the heat It's about the freezes when it gets below 25F that "can" be fatal to Queens. Without winter protection, especially when young, your Queen will have a hard time surviving Texas winters . They're hardy to a high 9b hardiness zone. I have a young Queen which survived lows in the 16,19,22,24,30 but with protection. All fronds were burned.

Nice trees, good job! Your trees are growing faster than I saw around neighborhood . How often did you add acidifier? once per year and 1/2 cup each time? Do you check PH often? How important is that PH level to palm trees. Thanks in advance.

Your questions are extremely thoughtful. I will start with acidifier: I used it for the first three years at a half of cup or so, a little more as the trees became larger. But I did stop when I believed the trees looked healthy and were doing good. I did not use my Ph tester other than the first time, as I was satisfied with the results and that of my two trees. Because my soil is not where Queen Palms naturally inhabit, but in Brazil's rainforest that is covered in decay with somewhat acidic soil, I did a lot of research on growers and their recommendations. I concluded from their statements that a slightly acidic soil was best. Now that I see that the nitrogen in the fertilizers I use offer enough acidity to the mix and the trees appear healthy I leave well enough alone. Following the adage, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
