Wow! Anna, pat yourself on the back for a job so expertly done and all your helpers too....we forget how much work you did and how people used the land as a city dump and you had to clear it all out...imagine if the previous owner could come back and see what this place has become? I belive it's called : 'Stuga Röd'. Cabin red. It's a very commond paint color in Sweden. 😊

Love the color you are painting the outside of your house. I am used to the traditional red, black, and kind of a mustard yellow. I like the dark green and am thinking about residing my house and this gives me ideas.

new subscriber here - so enjoyed watching this video here in a very stormy Devon England. take my hat off to you in your amazing efforts in renovating what is now becoming a charming Swedish country home. it reminded me of a similar renovation project i carried out at my holiday home in Brittany France some years ago especially revamping a wooden conservatory i had that was a great space but so in need of repair throughout, i chuckled at you finding an old bed bicycle and many other items within your grounds. i too unravelled many items of reclaimed garden ornamental artefacts hidden below a wildly overgrown rear garden. i was told at the foot f the garden was a shed according to my Notaire .Upon days taken to remove 10 foot high thick brambles i uncovered a 6 metres x 5 metres size Hangar. inside was enough kindling and dry logs i could feed my log burning with for years, lovely to see the chicks and chickens keep up your great work and look forward to watching your future vlogs.

I was sad to see the white trim removed. I really like that style. But I am impressed with the amount of progress you are making. common practice I believe in older homes in Scandinavia, before they had garbage pickup. We had a garbage pile at the back of a shed on our property too that was slightly buried in the ground.

I’ve seen it in all cultures. In Thailand stuff went into the waterways. I saw dead cats, refrigerators and all sorts of trash floating past my window. I smelled diesel fuel in the river in front of my house and there was a chemical plant upstream. In the U.S., out in the boonies, there are dead cars and trucks rotting in backyards, and junk piled up on front porches. It is disgraceful and unnecessary. Americans buy so much stuff. I love the creek and trees and brush in your backyard - wildness where birds and other animals can be seen.

Where I live in the U.S. we get lots of false springs. Just when you think the snow is gone it comes back. Now it has switched to hot, hot, hot, and lot of lightning caused wild fires. To get any thing done outside I must get up when the roosters crow and then I am inside after 12:00. I enjoy watching you remodel your hytte. You are very talented with your carpentry. I was in Norway a year ago last May visiting my family and I sure miss it in Scandinavia as well as my family. I have been to Sweden twice and like it there a lot too. I am now 75 and still trying to learn the language after all these years. I play Norwegian Word Fued to help me learn. My cousins tells her friends I can u derstand them but am afraid to speak it a lot it do try. It confuses everyone when I switch languages. Watching you site makes me feel closer to my second home so thank you for that!

Hi Anna - Thank you so much for filming your renovation of this home and garden - I started watching in the middle of the story and realized I wanted to start from the beginning to know the whole story - so I did. 🙂 You inspired me and brought back memories from when I was growing up in San Jose, California USA - my Father upgraded and restored my childhood home and I worked by his side to help on nearly every project - tiling an entry - refinishing cabinets in the kitchen - and replacing the roof material. It was fun - and I learned a lot like you. 🙂 I watched the videos starting in the middle and then started again from the beginning to watch until the last video. And I'm just finishing with this video - but I feel like I want to watch the story again. I'm going through a Spiritual healing right now - and your story is helping me heal something and by watching I feel a connection to my childhood and the Organic Gardening and Chicken Raising that my family did - remembering the joy of collecting eggs and eating fresh tomatoes and other vegetables from our garden in the home I grew up in. I live now in Santa Fe, New Mexico USA - and I live on Disability for PTSD in low income housing. I am half Norwegian and one quarter Italian and one quarter Swiss and I love the Scandinavian Cultures and their traditions. I wrote to finally tell you how much I appreciate your renovation journey and how much courage and strength you have to take on this project. You are an inspiration to me. I hope to visit Sweden in the future and if possible - meet you and see your home - chickens and garden.🩷 I'm going to watch your story a third time for my healing and remembering of my family and the special home we had together at that time.
