They've got more balls than I do. I've been there and it's more insane in person. That dad's heart must have swelled so large seeing his amazing daughters crush this. They dropped in with some pause but for a first timer, that was a quick go. Great, great, great job, girls! We're all admiring your confidence. The first girl did a lot better but the second drop-in is going to be easier and better, I'm sure.

I went to Jackson a few years ago. Before I went, I watched a bunch of videos on Corbet's and thought that it looked doable and was pumped to air in when i got there. Fast forward to me being there and dannng, the entry to the Couloir was dicey AF and i found it comical how i thought I could just jump on in and ski away. I didn't end up even trying although in hindsight I wish I had. Good on these two for giving it a go! it will surely build their confidence, they will be masters of Cortbets in no time!

Thanks for sharing. I have seen so many people jumping down here, but never seen a 'successful trial' like this. We have to appreciate the hard work before an elegant jump.
@travisbacon19742 жыл бұрын
Hsio, a pretty common technique for kids is to, 'fall into the hole'. It is important for them to stay way forward. The kids can get away with doing it this way because of their smaller skis. However, we did a boy (age 10-12) try it that way and he broke his ski when he drove it into the wall.

There is a lot of contemplation for most people at the top of Corbet's. Not for these girls. Someone asked them if they had done it before and they said, 'nope but we are going to do it now'. They waited for one other person to go and then went right in. I see a lot of people go into Corbet's, few do it with so little hesitation.

This looks like their freeride team. The fact that they sent the second skier before the first was out of the fall line shows how poorly trained these coaches are. It is ridiculous. It is the simplest rule of all. Regardless of whether either kid should have been dropping in on Corbet and since they both went down that was a questionable choice. My opinion of this incidence has nothing to do with the fact they both fell though. It is the lack of qualified coaches these kids had.
@travisbacon197410 ай бұрын
They may have been in Jackson Hole Ski Club which has several different programs. I’m pretty sure the adult with them wasn’t a coach. The second girl got on the top of the Goat Path when just about every skier does; after the first skier is clear of the lower section of the Path. There is a line of people who want to go in. If everyone waited until the fall line was completly clear there would be a lot more waiting around.
@elhior2310 ай бұрын
@@travisbacon1974 So you take extra risks because there is waiting around?

Sometimes you can do it without a jump turn. Especially kids and their small skis. You could be right about the bad choice but we would have to ask the dad and kids if it was or not. People in Jackson have different thoughts on acceptable levels of risk.
