Jon. Sorry to change the subject, But you Really need to get the Twisted Hobbies 42" EDGE 540 XL. Absolutely Phenomenal Airplane. It really is the Best of all worlds for 3D. NO Gyro needed. Got mine balanced with a 3s 1800 to keep it light. With your flying skills, you will laugh out loud at what this thing will do for you. Keep your video's coming. Peace.

I've wanted one of these for a few months now. I got talked into a crack laser, which is fun, but I could see the wings flexing during turns. I heard this was heavier and perhaps more easily broken, (because of the FPP foam) but I bought one yesterday, put it together last night and flew it today. It's pretty early to tell, but I think this may be my favorite plane. I thought it would be significantly bigger than the laser (lite), but it's only a couple of inches wider and longer. It's much more precise and I like that it's a little heavier, because the wind never seems to stop where I fly.

So satisfying to watch you fly 3d as per usual. I saw in another comment you switched the servos to the turbo timber servos. Are these available for purchase? And are they fast and responsive? A big thing for me that makes these flat foamies so fun to fly 3d is responsiveness. Thanks Happy Thanksgiving!
@TwoBrosRC
@TwoBrosRC Жыл бұрын
They're responsive enough, we saw no difference from the stock servos in terms of speed. It wasn't by choice, Jon just banged the model while it was powered and it stripped servos. Happens sometimes. The A370 servos are what you're looking for on Horizon's site.

Hi Jon. I just bought the Eratix. I'm having a bit of trouble understanding the CG position, based on the manual. Based on the words alone, it would seem the recommended CG is 84mm from the root. Am I correct in assuming they consider the root of the wing to be right next to the fuselage? The diagram would suggest otherwise, hence my confusion.
@TwoBrosRC
@TwoBrosRC Жыл бұрын
The root of the wing is where the front of the wing meets the fuselage.

150% rates (you'll need to unlock and reprogram the receiver to get it, search for "unlock AR637TA"on KZbin) and 50% expo across the board is all we're using here. Skill is part of it, but a lot of it is just setting the model up to perform.

I've been flying for quite a while, but I can't get the hang of hovering. I bought the Eratix and as you say it does fly nice. When I get it up into a hover, it wing rocks and falls out of the hover. Do you use dual rates and what is your expo. I'm flying with a Spektrum Ix20. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. I try to vary my power and it just climbs.

That's incorrect. It's priced competitively compared to similar offerings from Twisted Hobbies.

A $220+ profile foamy, Horizon Hobby is smoking crack with this one. Just my $0.02 getting a $200 plane for free, isn't worth the unavoidable bias in your review. Don't be a cheapskate, don't accept or ask for promotional products if you want to remain a respected review channel.

This is a fantastic price for a profile plane that takes 10 minutes to build. We've built and flown Twisted profiles. Eratix comes with almost everything needed except a battery and transmitter. Don't @ us with this "hurrdurr you got it free" nonsense.
