One of the best cars ever built. Big Yenko fan. I even went out to Cononsburg, PA and saw the old Yenko dealership. Still there. Motorcycle shop of some sort now. Not all original, but I have a '69 Yenko camaro, 69' Yenko Chevelle, 69' Yenko Nova and a 70' Yenko Deuce. All redone; 427 engines on the 69's and a LT-1 350 on the 70'

Nice! 1st ride was a 67 rs 4sp Same dark shade of turqoise as Jerry Neishs Z. Uncle bought a 68 Z brand new Id lose my mind as a 70s kid when he would come over. Parents thought I was strange when I begged him to go start it so I could listen to it. Strange little man, yes I was. lol

Bet it almost never gets driven which is foolish. Garage rot is a real thing. WIthout a sticky drag radial this thing would smoke them well into 3rd gear

To set the record straight here , first off that is not Lemans blue , I had an original paint '68 SS Camaro in Lemans blue and this car is about three shades too light . Second , all of the Yenko Super Novas for '69 were built from SS 396 / 375 hp. Novas by the Yenko dealership . They removed the SS badges from the grille and rear panel between the taillights, but if you look closely at the lower edge you can see one of the mounting holes for the SS badges . The hood louvers came as part of the SS package. They swapped out the 396 front marker light surrounds for the Impala 427 ones from '68 . As for the engines they swapped out the L-78 short blocks for the L 72s and reused the heads , intake and carb , distributor , water pump and pulleys. The 396 short blocks were then used as warranty replacement items . Did anybody notice that the steering wheel still had the SS badge on it ? Those green line S.W.gauges are correct for a Yenko .
@TwoGuysandaRide Жыл бұрын
Well it sounds like he bought a non Yenko. Shame being that this one of 95 cars in his total collection is a fake. Next we’ll hear that his Reggie Jackson owned Camaro isn’t real either
@bobbrinkerhoff3592 Жыл бұрын
@@TwoGuysandaRide you weren't paying close attention to my comment , contrary to wat most people assume , the 1969 Yenko Novas were not COPO cars . They were built by the dealership the same way they built the cars in '67 and '68 . The 1969 Yenko 427 Camaros and Malibus were COPO cars that had the stripes, badges ,gauges and mag wheels added at the dealership . The Novas were built the hard way .

Had no idea on the swapping of shortblocks, how cool. Remember when you could buy those over the counter all thier offroad cams heads etc. Best was thier flat tappet lifters those were what most car guys used after they bought a camshaft. Never had one go flat

It was bought new by my grandmother also has less than 100,000 miles on it. Been sitting in the barn for quite some time, recently started it. My problem is that I don't know where to start. Can anyone help.
