You, my friend, are the epitome of a true craftsman! Fantastic job. Not sure if your have the full floor layout set yet, but I am thinking that jacuzzi/bar combo would be awesome right in front of those gorgeous doors. Especially when you open them up and let the outside in on those cool nights when you're entertaining that special someone! JS 😉

Oh man, thank you William. No they aren't natural abilities. That is just practice and a LOT of mistakes. You guys don't see the endless tinkering, prototyping and mess ups I make. I try do share the major ones but some days could just be sitting with a coffee and playing with a couple pieces of brass, a chunk of wood and glass. I only threw threw out the glass that had like 8 different bands of adhesive smeared across the back when I was thinking about how my doors would work. I am very proud man. Love that you appreciate the work mate.

Wowee! Such a thoughtful design and build. Very classy. I love the brass and your reference to it living and breathing with the house. Edit: You would make a fine teacher - thorough, patient and describe how and what you're doing really well ; )

Thank you :). Yeah I love that about brass, the buffed areas where life has been. These doors will get it all over and I love it. It'll be cool to see in a couple years. Ha I patience for making stuff but put me in a room full of kids and I might not be so cool headed. But thank you ;)

Two Hands and a Tiny House can't wait to see the exterior you have chosen. Love what you do as it reminds me my teens when I was helping my dad (builder, contractor, architect) building house and churches. If you ever need help, I am all in to help in your workshop. Great design details and quality of workmanship! How tempted are you to add a layer of brass to the end of your deadbolt? :) I look forward to your entry steps which I picture as folding aluminimium which store flat underneath somehow.
@TwoHandsandaTinyHouse3 жыл бұрын
Haha you know I hadn't thought of that. I could brass foil it. I might check that out. Damn now you have me thinking. Oh dude I haven't even thought that far ahead. I would love to put a deck there but if I do it as part of the build before I find a place to set up it has be able to travel with the trailers. I am not sure how I'll go with weight though. I do need to think about some steps though. Even just to go in and out of while I build.

Really enjoying your series! My wife and I have just fabricated the floor pan for our Tiny House - its cool to see you a little bit ahead of our build! I really enjoy the way you explain your thought processes. One question on the door lock - is it physically wired through the door into the house or do you need to replace batteries every so often? Is there a manual key override if the digital controller fails / is out of charge?
@TwoHandsandaTinyHouse3 жыл бұрын
Hey Adam. Thank you man so glad you are enjoying the series. I need to get another video out. That is cool that you are underway with your house. Haha chances are you'll overtake me, I've seen a few do that now. Sure thing. Just uses batteries. But it uses so little power that they last forever. There are terminals on the outside you can touch a 9v battery to power it if the batteries go flat. This one does not have key override but there are models that do if you want that. I just wanted the minimal look.

Cheers guys. You kept me up last night thinking up a design for a rotating tiny house. I haven't even finished this one. As for a new view. These come apart and I can tow them with a standard 4wd. Well that is if I can hit my weight target... which is getting dubious.

So true. And look when I was making them I couldn't help but think how much easier an aluminium door would have been. But when I finally got them installed... man it just would not have been anything like what I ended up with.
