Second game I tried it and killed 3 Town only then got yelled at because it 'wasn't a vet bait and seemed evil af' :(

Tip: despite what people in Classic say, if you talk at all D1 (like, even just a "hi" will usually work), mafia will *never* attack you (I mean, unless you're baiting). This is also speaking from experience. Due to the possibilities of vet baits D1, I never attack someone who said anything D1, whether I'm maf or NK. Oh and this might just be me, I would love to see like an outtakes video where you die N1, make horrible misplays, watch others make horrible misplays, confirmed people get killed by jailor/vig, etc.

I would add fake alerts in your will, because Mafia thinking you have less alerts than you really do is always a good thing. Unfortunately, passive visits on you could be bad, since passive Mafia visits show them you're lying, and passive Town visits make you look fake and get you lynched. However, Mafia don't tend to expect you to lie in your will, so if it comes down to a close shave between, say you and a Godfather, and your will share you alerted 3 times, they will not be expecting you to alert. It's much better than just saying you have no alerts. Now, you won't be asked for your will a lot, so you will need to subtly create a reason to show your will. Usually, when there are only a few people left, calling for a role call with wills and then sending your will tends to look inconspicuous.

In skimm’s last Veteran game I mentioned I used this tactic of asking for TP/Lo day 1 so you can save alerts. I’m glad to see he tried it out and it worked well. He was able to get a strong bait out too, afterwards revealing as the actual veteran which meant evil roles wouldn’t visit him after that which saved his alerts again. As veteran use this tactic, it does keep you alive with most of your alerts left.

I figured that 6 was Disg. The reason I trusted the Sheriff calling him out was because town had overwhelming majority, Jailor was still alive, and Witch was dead; it would be a really stupid play for one of the maf to call out a townie because they'd be exe'd/lynched the next day. Due to 14 sharing his results about who the Doc was, it was easy for Disg to keep visiting (especially with no Spy). I knew 11 was maf the second they accused you of being maf and then never claimed a role. Will say again: the most success I have with Vet (my fav role) is to just be proactive and scum read. Evils hate people who do that/lead the town and will often try to go after them. I don't think calling out that you were Ret was a good idea; if there was a LO, they might have been on you in case maf had a Consort. Again, the best way (I've found) to play Vet is to hope you don't die n1 and then pay close attention to invest claims and voting patterns to start calling people out because evils absolutely hate that. In the very least, you might get a BMer. XD

Had ranked game as vet where it came down to me, the jailor and I think it was NE (or was third townie) versus 3 mafia (godfather, mafioso and janitor). I got asked for for role but didn't answer. Jailor nabbed and executed one of the mafia killing roles and I went on my final alert... and presto no more mafia because the other killing role and the janitor both decided to visit me lol.

My most memorable vet game is still the Tyrion Tywin game I played years ago. Btw Game of thrones spoilers directly related to this game. Someone named themselves Tyrion Lannister, so I, being a smart ass, named myself Tywin Lannister. I was vet. Day one I didn't bait. But day two I was whispered by a random player who asked what I claimed in jail. This was back in the days when you couldn't see if someone was jailed(unless you were transporter). I told him I wasn't jailed and pitied him as he tried to insist I was. I played dumb but didn't tell town. Meanwhile I wrote Rains of Castamere in my death note. That night, I was attacked twice. Sk and GF. Gf was who I was whispering. Poor fool. If there had been a spy(spies still saw whispers) he would have fucked himself even if he had whispered Tyrion and not me. I tried to tell town why I, the vet, knew Tyrion was mafia. They didn't get it, but I told jailor to rejail and exe him, since jailor knew he was in jail night one. I died that night. Didn't alert. The mafioso that killed me, Tyrion, was hung that day. His final words were worth it. Unbelievably fitting. He caught me on the toilet with my trousers down. But town won. I had another amazing jester game where I used that round as inspiration to win. I whispered someone asking what they claimed in jail. They were sheriff, and later accused me of being Godfather. Defended saying I was BG and only asking his role so I knew if I should guard him. It worked. I got hung. I deliberately tried to kill a mafia too because I wanted the pawn who got me hung to win.

I got an idea for something to replace a disguiser as and that will be the _________ you decide the name! The disguiser will change themselves to look inno if killed, but this new role will allow you to change someone else who died to look guilty or a different town role for ex: a vet looks like a doc. It's prob all people who think they will succeed in ranked just because they played 50 games. Once they pass the requirements they start to think they're good and go to Ranked. I actually stay in Ranked Practice most of the time because that's where I find other people who want to have fun with the game rather than people who only care about a rank.

Fair point. I agree that the requirements really aren't enough to prevent noobs from getting in ranked, because it doesn't matter if they win, it only matters if they play.

Yeah, I think the RQs should include a minimum winrate or a minimum number of games won. That way we guarantee that the people going into Ranked are actually good. It's not perfect, since sometimes people are just unlucky and get a losing streak, but it's better than the current system.

Keep that low in elo. Its a struggle in masters. Winning isnt the problem, but you get +2 as NK and +1 for anything else. But of you lose, then you lose like -5 to -8
