I completely agree! Most Australians know of the Whitsundays and Fraser Island but nothing in between! Keppel has some of the best beaches in the tropics and is so easily accessible from Yeppoon!

The ferry over can get pretty gnarly haha, but place is literal heaven on earth. Made the mistake of only planning a day trip, need to get back there to fully take it all in.

great video! Literally in our backyard. We've visited a few times but adding 3 kids to the mix does increase costs a lot. Going again in a few weeks and hopefully it has warmed up!

Back in the 80’s Great Keppel island was a place where you partied but it became neglected and run down .It was refurbished and now is a great hideaway .

It is a shame it has become a big neglected, we did find what looked like an old resort there, perhaps that was the place to be back in the day!

Great Keppel Island was one of the best party houses of all North Queensland they used to call it great Keppel Island where you can go and get wrecked , It was one of the nicest place to visit even if you just go there for a day it’s great

Went there a few yrs ago. Beutiful sunsets and not to crowded. We also saw whales on the way over and way back
