We love the bikes. It allows us to see parts of the parks we might otherwise miss.

@@TwoTiredTeachers I know I never have. I don’t think I’d want to camp right next to the edge either though. I don’t trust wheel chocks that much.

@@rabbi7933 We were probably 6 to 8' away from the edge. We wanted to be where we had a good view of all there was to see.

It was great dispersed camping. When we were there in September, it was windy, but it was a wonderful trip despite the winds.

Phil, we enjoyed cups of pumpkin spice coffee while reading your comment. We've been at Mineral Wells, and Sharon was hoping for a tight line. She caught one crappie. Hope you are more successful.

The sheep were sometimes closer to the dispersed camping, and sometimes they seemed to enjoy stopping traffic.

We can relate to misreading while waiting for the coffee to kick in. We love the bikes too. They have provided a great distraction during the pandemic.

I love your videos. We stopped there years ago just after Labor Day. Plagued with No-See-Ums. We decided not to camp there and continued on west, but we did go on a hike...with a jacket even though it was hot. We're you there in December?

We were there in mid September. The days were pleasant. By the end of the month when we were at Devil's Tower, it snowed.

It was rutted, but doable if you keep your speed low. I'm glad we spent our first night at Wall Drug; I wouldn't have wanted to drive the road the first time with dark skies and a threat of rain.

We were really hoping you'd wind up here on your trip. Question on the wind: did it come up the canyons to the flat, or across the prairie toward the canyon?

It changed directions. One night it was across the prairie and the other night it was up the canyons.

@@TwoTiredTeachers a much delayed reply, but much has happened since you posted this. It's ironic that we're now mirroring your trip, having recently camped in Utah, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. We're boondocking in the Black Hills now, and heading to Wall/Badlands tomorrow. Do you happen to know if where you camped is AKA Nomad's View? Also, do you have the grid coords for where you camped? Thanks in advance for your safe advice. My wife and I love your videos.

Do they have a place to fill your rig with water in wall?

The dispersed camping doesn't have water, but the national park, just down the road does have a dump station and water. Once you pay the entrance fee, I think you'll be able to dump your tanks and fill fresh water.

@@dlb054647 We were on the rim of the Badlands, not on the grass. Sharon suggested to me that the mice might have been in the grassy areas.
