the sound package on this thing is amazing - so gratifying. Minor point - i believe standard VTOL ops for British Carriers involves hovering parallel to the deck and then sliding right to your landing position (based on what i've seen from Big Lizzy F35b test footage) - FINAL POINT: this is the BEST video on the net right now for using this airplane

Very nice! Not sure why they didn't make it where we could use the throttle for up and down, and forward and backward for forward and backward, but still a fascinating technological achievement both in real life and the sim.

F 35 has the looks. So trimming ailerons control the speed,.I love this plane it's great fun. I was using a demo version & went over 200,000 ft. Well into space has anybody had any unusual thing happen in MSFS. The video is nicely done & information to boot. Thank you for a very helpful video.

Have you landed on a moving carrier? Tried on the Queen Elizabeth carriers and the jet shoots backwards.....I also get (when first flying) the jet doesnt turn. So frustrating.

How do you change the master mode in this aircraft?In the manual it says the three master modes.air to air,air to ground and navigation which is default. if anyone could help me that would be great

As there are no functional weapons, I don't believe the master modes actually work. COuld be wrong, but just a thought

Is there a way to assign the VTOL to something on an Xbox Controller? I haven't found a way to toggle VTOLE through the Xbox control and even the keyboard. I usually fly in third person and I can't easily switch into cockpit, take my hands off the control and press that tiny button to toggle it

So I bought this on Xbox, and have two problems. 1.) my canopy will not close, it just makes a noise and does nothing when I pull the lever. 2.) when I click the hook/vtol button the only thing that happens is the hook comes down. Man it sucks being on Xbox.

It’s a bug. Go into settings and change your throttle from throttle axis to throttle axis 1

Make sure you're using "B" variant. That's the variant for the Navy

When I use the aileron right/ left it controls my roll and then SLOWLY starts to go forward/back. Is there a way to eliminate this roll? It would be nice to control up and down with throttle and then translate with the left thumbstick (I use controller)

@@kolbyadams9979 Figured it out by trial and error. Lights on/off toggles VSTOL Mode Heading Hold toggles Hover Mode Aileron trim controls your forward and aft speed while in Hover Mode. Map these functions to your HOTAS and it works great. Two buttons on the throttle for VSTOL and Hover mode, Aileron trim is set to control hover forward/aft by default. I found that P3D is actually very similar; Oddly enough, Tail Hook controls VSTOL mode and heading hold controls hover mode and aileron trim controls for/aft. Now I just need to figure out what controls are mapped to radar functions in P3D.

Love to fly this aircraft, especially the 'B' variant. I'm still getting CTD's during at least 50% of my flights, despite ensuring I'm using DX11, the latest drivers and disabling all add-ons apart from the F-35. When it all works it is great but so frustrating when you have to keep rebooting MSFS. I do not have any problem with any other aircraft. IndiaFoxEcho are very competent, love their aircraft but this is very frustrating.

Have to admit...there is too much going on here, and it was made...to make things easier. This does not! Why do I say this? Was a Crewchief/swimmer on US Navy helos. It's "overload". Jumped outta helos at 50ft/50kts, would all of this prevent me from??? Ya, I broke a nose and teeth (so what!), Ya get over it. This seems to be so convoluted. If the Gov gave me 100mil, I would give them 75 P-51's. The people would do it/pay for it. Too much bs today, low tech, high output is "A" key.

It's a shame the flight modeling and fidelity varies soooo greatly between modules in MSFS, at least in DCS you know your getting something worth the money. I am pretty sure the flight modeling and fidelity on this thing is extremely subpar. I mean obviously, they don't have access to any documentation for this plane so all of it is completely made up.
