You made the right decision going to Vietnam while you're young and healthy. Definitely makes sense for your wife to get U.S. citizenship at some point so both of you can easily travel to other countries. BTW, my Niner carbon gravel frameset is made in Vietnam so they're improving their manufacturing ability; also labor is relatively cheap.

Your apartment view is beautiful! And how cool is it that you get to see the dragon bridge from your window? I'd love to live where I'm that close to the beach and mountains. Great choice in deciding to move there as it's a slower pace than Saigon or Hanoi. Also, I hear it's more a working city and is great for digital nomads.

I quite like learning about different cultures from your videos. Was interesting (and sad) to hear how hard people in Vietnam have it work-wise. How your wife came over on a scheme to Japan that was really about cheap labour. All these Asian countries you have visited have people with a great work ethic. Was interesting seeing the difference between Japan and Thailand. And now Vietnam too. I also love biking too and interesting to see how it compares in these different countries. Also been interesting to see how COVID affected the different countries. I find your channel educational as well as enjoyable. Thanks for sharing everything.

I was in Da Nang a few years ago. It's incredible how much development has occurred in Vietnam in general. I remember going to Hoi An and seeing a tourist all bandaged up. It seems he rented a moped thinking he could figure out how to ride in traffic there. I went around the block on a moped once in Saigon in '99 and man, that felt so risky. Thankfully Da Nang seems far less dense in terms of population so maybe it's a little safer. I'm still pretty shocked at how wealthy Vietnam has become since my first time there. People riding bikes for pleasure or sport was really such a luxury more than 20 years ago. Expending any energy not related to survival or working was seen as a wasteful activity.

I'm loving these travel videos, seeing the world through your camera, but you're right, Japan is just so nice, I'm a rule follower and like order and cleanliness. My wife and I live in Washington state but are moving to the netherlands in the future for long term. We love the infrastructure and development. Feels like a European Japan. Let's be honest here for a minute... Japan is a dying country. Japan has passed it's golden era a long time ago, and they know it. You moved to one of the biggest, if not THE biggest up-and-coming country on Earth. Great country! And Da Nang was a fantastic choice. I think for biking, Da Nang is a really good choice, but you might consider Da Lat in the future as so many say it's a cool city (literally and otherwise). Not sure how big of a biking group is there, but I think there are all kinds of outdoorsy activities and I hear the food is good (I heard Da Nang food isn't as great as other places in Vietnam, but it's good enough and you're closer to good food places like Hoi An and Hue).

Congrats on making the right move whilst still relatively young, as you'll be able to work out whether you want to stay there for a longer term or later move to the US for a while. And you're in the right city, especially with that wonderful corner ocean, river, and mountain view from your new place. As a long-term Japan resident I can say that Vietnam is bound to be refreshing compared to Japan where attitudes are still mired in centuries of island nation parochialism, even though the visa situation is relatively easy to deal with there. I think Thailand is nice, but the authorities really make you jump through hoops to stay long-term, even if a spouse is Thai. Also, as you mentioned, it's good to be in a country where one of you is a citizen, which helps a bit for visa realities. Cycle safe and enjoy it a lot. Keep up the nice videos.

Hey man, a Vietnamese here, who studied in Japan for 4 years. I've been following your journey from day one, since I can relate myself to your family a lot. I left Japan for the exact same reason you mentioned in the previous video, however, "suppression of the individuality" was my biggest excuse. Currently I'm pursuing my career in Canada. Seems like a good place to have a family. Have you ever thought of migrating to this cold country? The PR and citizenship window seems to be loose recently, however I'm not sure how long this golden opportunity will last. Personally, I feel like Japan and Vietnam are only suitable for those who are truly rich and decide to retire in these countries in their late 40s. While Vietnam is the safe haven for real estate, Japan is the ultimate destination for long vacation.
@TwoWheelCruise

@@TwoWheelCruise I see. I think an US citizenship for Thuong is the best option in this case then. She should also learn English gradually to raise kids in the future too. Being that i grew up in what's informally known as Little Saigon in Westminster/Garden Grove, Ca., I was exposed to awesome French/Vietnamese bakeries, pho, had some cool Vietnamese neighbors who from time to time made us some bomb Spring Rolls, and Vietnamese coffee shops you left vibrating from all the iced tea/Vietnamese coffee you'd consumed. It was also cool to be in an area touched by contemporary history (Vietnam War and the immigrants...); great place to really realize 'history' isn't just stuff found in books and can touch and be part of the warp and weft of one's life. Additionally, i was always shopping at the local, super close, and generally super reasonably priced Vietnamese supermarket; soy product also was fresh and affordable. Lived close to the shopping mall in Little Saigon where they filmed a scene from one of the early 'Fast and Furious' movies; kinda cool that... Some friends and i would semi-frequently visit/meditate at the local Vietnamese Zen Buddhist temple in Santa Ana and have good conversation/food with the monks post. (Also played basketball with many Vietnamese; always got stuck playing Center...) Sadly, Reno (NV) hasn't the French/Vietnamese bakeries, French Billard places, or coffee shops and just a few phos; very small Vietnamese community here alas...

In addition to the bike shop and bike rental, you may be able to offer a mechanic service for bikes. Another thing, you could offer yourself as a guide for those arriving in the country, who want to take a bike ride but do not know where to go. Or you could offer a shuttle shuttle service, you need a minivan and a trailer to load the bikes. You can take them on single tracks on a mountain bike or other ... In my opinion it would be really nice. Challenging but fun. And Thuong could help you manage the shop and business (am I wrong or do I see Thuong tanned? 👍👏 ).

Hi Guys! I am very happy that you guys managed well, and I can hear on your voice you are much more relaxed. The tour looks great but a bit hectic, not gonna lie, I would get a little stressed out from all the noise, cars, motorbikes, all the stuff going on :) On the topic "the older you get the harder it is to move", I guess... but I also guess I just haven't aged enough yet to realize this, maybe it comes slower for people like me, I still can just turn on a coin, pack my bag and go. And I love that discovery feeling. I am happy you guys feel that you are in the right place at the right time. Looking forward to your travels, bikes, and what business ventures you decide by, all sounded amazing :)

@@TwoWheelCruise that I can agree with, it’s more about that. But it is good to have a plan and nevertheless it is exciting to see what the future holds. You guys enjoy Vietnam for now, it’s been a long wait so you deserve a bit of relaxation:)

I'm happy to see you made the right choice....the traffic in Da Nang is not so bad! You seem to get the idea of the rules of the road, I assure you the mayhem is organized and very few accidents occur. It really works! .Hanoi is polluted much of the year and HCMC is just crazy. Fun to visit though....for living Central Vietnam is the best! And the food....all of Vietnam is great but the central region is the best in my opinion. People are happy, friendly, enjoying life.....I hope they work out a long term visa like they had pre-covid...the only thing about Vietnam is that after you have lived there almost anywhere else is a disappointment.....Damn I envy you.

18:40 So she’s thirty! I would have guessed twenty - five. I’m a fire rooster which makes me her parents’ age. I hope the stress levels are lower now that you have your own apartment and have settled down from the hassles of moving abroad.

Banh Mi is so much better in VN because of the quality of the French roll and paté. In the US, it is almost impossible to find good rolls even if they are made in house.

I have had a hard time watching your videos for some time now. It freezes the video while the audio keeps on playing. Watching KZbin on television. Yours and Vietnam travel guide are the only channels that do this to me. Discovered It was your change to 60fps. It drops a significant number of frames per the stats for nerds. Cannot watch it when it is dropping frames like that. Might be a reason why your viewers do not watch all the way through.
