Hi, I am French and we have many Vietnamese restaurants in Paris. But I have been living in Sweden for the last 20 years so I miss Vietnamese cuisine a lot, it is so good. I love especially the nems and I did cooked them twice but it takes time. Love the colors of Vietnam, very nice and I could almost smell the dishes. Thank you to show the real life in your country. Very refreshing!

Thank you Thuong for letting us share time with you and your family in your hometown, it was a delight, and you have a natural eye and talent for filmmaking and I hope we can see more of your talent. Btw, Can I share a tip I got many years ago a Hollywood editor when I started editing? He advised me: "I know you want to have long clips so people can enjoy the scene, but if you shorten your cuts up a little, to about 10 seconds or less, just long enough for the audience to take in the scene, and hold a rhythm to your cuts, your film will move better and be more enjoyable for the audience. Overall Thuong, this film has a good, but perhaps the cuts in the market scene would move better if cut just a bit shorter. Until next episode, wishing you and everyone there all the best!

wow. I was clicking on some Vietnam tourism videos, and youtube mysterious algorithm coughed up this gem on the side panel. I was watching a video of a seafood restaurant in Da Nang, where a tourist would pay ~$100 for a fresh lobster dinner. There is no way the tourists can imagine a mere 20-cent dish can offer a Vietnamese pupil a nutritious and likely delicious breakfast of glutinous rice with mung bean, egg, ham, shredded dried meat, garnished with crushed peanuts and roasted sesame seeds (did I get it correctly 😁? ). Many tourists go to hole-in-the-wall restaurants in Vietnam, paying $2.5 for a bowl of pho in order to experience what common (poor) Vietnamese eat. Little do they know that even a $2 pho would be a luxury treat to a Vietnamese school child of modest means. One thing I observe is the richness of quality protein in the market. As rural Vietnam appears to be still too poor to have amenities like freezers, people precook fish and seafood to prevent spoilage. That's interesting. Last (but not least) the scene of school children riding bikes to school is so cute and beautiful. Your little sister or niece is also very adorable. I appreciate the authenticity and genuineness in your depiction of your family life, unlike the numerous professional productions of fake videos purportedly featuring rural life that involve good-looking or well-endowed, well-manicured young actresses pretending rural life activities that require the support a 20-man crew in the background. Your video is very refreshing in comparison. Best wishes to you. One more thing: I ate quite a few Vietnamese noodle dishes, but can't recognize your mom's concoction. Is that a specialty available only in your home town? Good luck with your English.
