Being an RVr and Goldwing Ryder with two campers I wanted to offer two notes to help you out. Most fridge doors have an additional latch button behind the regular opener handle, of you have them also they slide/click outward to better secure the door(s). Also. Not sure you retract your awning before depart the trailer but most will advise you do; wind is your awnings enemy and every season campers ruin or lose their awning while away from camp.

In addition to the website you mentioned, the Butler Ozarks map can't be beat. Made of indestructible material, it highlights sites and the best riding roads. My best gal and I did a 2k mi loop through MO, AR, and the Eastern edge of OK last Oct. It was amazing - we had a blast and stayed at small cozy motels (we're not rv'ers). Almost as amazing as WV and SW VA. You can't beat a big-trailie for this kind of riding (Super Tenere and a F650 GS twin). We started / ended in IL. We normally ride our whole trip. This time we trailered from our home in VA to not far from St Louis arriving refreshed and not exhausted for the core of our ride. We're in our 60's (riding since our 20's) but as we age get saddle sore easier before the end of the day - no more 350 mi days for us. We're going to do this way more often.

Nice update. I'm changing up my travel method as well. Went from 2 wheels and cheap motels; now that I'm more um, mature I wanted a consistent place so I invested in a used motorhome and pulled the bike in a trailer. Did that for a few years but after a day of riding and wanting a quick meal getting back on the bike wasn't always fun, expecially in the rain. So I've gone to a toy hauler bumper pull trailer with a 1 ton pickup. Nice addition because when the weather isn't cooperating I can still go around and see some POI's, grocery runs, gas runs for the generator, etc. Enjoy the new year and the different travel method. I've hit the Ozarks one time so far, have family in Hot Springs to visit as well. Need to get back for more in that area.

Bob and I have been in the Ozark’s a number of times. Love the area. We have been on Peels Ferry across Bulls Shoals Lake. Beautiful. Look forward to riding in the Ozark’s in June for the BMW MOA Rally. The Ozark’s Butler Map is great, has all the roads in MO, AR and OK. Love seeing your new set up. My Wife and I both have relatives and distant relatives in Arkansas. My Great Grandmother passed away a several years ago on the eve of her 105th Birthday. My Mom, Aunt and Grandmother went to the funeral, which at that age is a Celebration of Life, and met cousins and distant cousins they'd heard of but had never met. My Wife, Son, and I went to Arkansas and met some of her relatives and had dinner with her Aunt who is alive and well even during these perilous times. Oddly, we camped there in a tent camper I bought for $50.00. So this weeks video is showing us a bit of our past even though neither my Wife or I spent much time there. I'd sue like to visit again but it's a long way from Washington State. You've kinda warmed the juices though. Thanks for Sharing!

Y'all rode some pretty country, and I recognized much of the area in this video. I live in central Arkansas, but make an annual pilgrimage to Eureka Springs every September. Been across Bull Shoals on the ferry several times. If you ever get back this way, you need to ride AR 23 from I-40 up to Eureka Springs (or do it the other way) and over the "Arkansas Golden Gate" at Beaver. Both are really nice rides. Ride safe, and I'm looking forward to your future adventures.

Chris we started outwit a popular camper. We added that foil insulation that you get from home depot. Custom cut to the size of your windows. On the bed ends then fit the cut pieces between the screen and canvas zippered flap. It blocks the heat and the cold. Also you can buy a tarp type
@debbiejohnson14412 жыл бұрын
Sorry hit wrong button. Cover for the top of your beds. It is reflective and blocks the heat and cold. Has tie down straps that go under the bed to hold in place. Cut the temperature by about 20 degrees. Check popup camper accessories on the internet. I stayed in our popular for 2 months in 13 degree weather. You can also put a warm blanket under your mattress above the wood bottom. I had electrical hookups and used a electric blanket for that. Every little bit helps.

I've lived most of my life on gravel roads and have never heard or seen a process that involves "claying, graveling, and rolling". What typically happens is that a new road is graded (maybe bulldozed first|), then large gravel is put down and graded, then minus gravel is put down and graded, and then people use the road which packs the gravel down. I've never seen a roller on a gravel road ever. Maybe what you're describing is a Texas thing....

Another great video. The Army Corp of Engineers campgrounds that I have been in have all been very nice, and clean. There had convenient amenities. And they were reasonably priced for what they provided. Admittedly that was a couple decades ago. Of course they don't have rustic charm like National Forest Service campgrounds.
