They made Eddy very vulnerable to sidestep, with many of his classic moves weakened or removed all together in Tekken 8. Jeondding is the best eddy player there is, and is still limited by the weakened character.

Jeondding should have punished those 1,1,1 from law at the end there with eddy's 2,3 would have given him a very good chance to win that round. He squandered that opportunity twice in quick succession. Guess the nerves must have got to him

"maybe just don't read them" implies you don't know how vision works - we cannot cut off or filter things from peripheral sight lines. From this tournament we can see that the push for aggressiveness in T8 is making everyone jittery in term of their gameplay, everyone is just trying to snatch turns and string up their 50/50s not allowing opponent to press because they know if opponent gets the turn, they wont get to press. This is not how tekken is supposed to be, movement is not reliable because strings track back making people want to just mash. I hope the update after evo will fix this and bring up defense so we can side step mashers as tekken should be

funny that Tekken commentators love to say this kind of thing "He picked (character), that's too bad he made a wrong choice because his opponent also uses this character LOL ..I haven't heard that in SF6 like "oh he's using Ryu, too bad his opponent uses Ryu as well" LOL. Tekken is used to be a game where players have character loyalty. and during that time players don't care if their opponent uses their main because they know how to adjust. Now, I'm not sure if it's because tekken commentators don't have anything knowledgeable to say which is they usually do in tournaments. They just saying what the players are doing in the match without providing insights, strategies or alternative options that can help viewers to learn the matchup. This is what they lack compared to SF commentators like James Chen and others.
