TX Guide made me drool... until I tried to put my wider foot in them. The leather version seems like it could work but I can't find them in my size anywhere. Why they don't sell more scrambling shoes in the center of rhe Colorado Rockies I just don't get. I fit in the Boulder X 40.5 and they are not super tight but I can crank the laces with that leather tongue so I dont feel like I need to size down to a 40.0. If I order the Guide leather version would you think the fit is close enough to the Boulder X. I can always return them but would like to get as close as I can get and hopefully get it right the first time.

i just got these but raining season is underway and i need more water resistant shoes, so my guide shoes have just been sitting there

I agree. Either a quick drying super breathable version of the TX Guide or a more water proof version. Currently both versions of the TX Guide are not very breathable/quick drying and they aren't very water proof either.
