Ford pardoned Nixon everyone protested that’s why Carter was elected but the democrats never changed the law to hold presidents accountabl. Clinton reformed welfare but not Social security & Medicare to prevent the government from dipping into these surplus like Regan did. Recent times Obama gets elected he passes the ACA but not the freedom of reproductive rights he promised in his campaign on the account that SCOTUS always follows precedent despite warnings from activists and also failed to prosecute those who caused the economic crisis of 2007. I grew up in Texas. Every morning we were required to say the pledge of allegiance. I mouthed the words, but did not say them. In 3rd grade, my teacher started thumping me on the back of my head. And she made sure each year the next teacher knew what I was up to. 3 more years of thumps. Then in 8th grade American History I learned about the SCOTUS ruling against forcing someone to salute the flag orvrecite the pledge. I told my parents the torture of all those years before. My small coastal Florida Panhandle city has a cross and an anchor on its official seal. I could protest that, but it wouldn't do anything but make people dislike me. It's not like they'll ever take it off there because I believe it's been there since the early 1800s when the city was founded. In addition, there's a Christian prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance at the start of every city meeting. I stand quietly and listen to the prayer, but I neither bow my head nor say "Amen" at the end. I do recite the pledge but when it comes to "under God," I don't say that part because I don't believe in their Christian god and don't think that clause or a Christian prayer should be part of a ritual performed at government meetings and other official government events. Granted, we don't have a whole lot of religious diversity here given our small population, with the only other belief system of which I'm aware being Judaism. But I still don't think icons or rituals which are part of a specific religion have any place in official government events.

Ie he said to love migrants like your own family and to never trust those that preach otherwise. Republicans entire platform these days is "fear and hate the migrants". They literally don't have any GOOD policies, so they depend on divide and conquer tactics to get elected. The truth is Republicans don't want migrants to gain citizenship because then their labor cannot be exploited in factory farms etc.
