What if the cat is a Fae? Faes give you gifts, but it always comes with a price. The “gift” a fae gives seems like a gift to us, but to them, it’s a pact, a contract. This might explain why things go haywire when Jin and yeonjun made pacts with the cat. This also relates to them having magical powers (as we can see Soobin literally opening magic portals). Maybe I’m wrong and overthinking. Idk. But the cat’s description reminds me of faeries. Edit: Laina Sunflower has a video on how txt are alchemists. Maybe the cat gave them the power of alchemy so that they can always reset the “game” when the make a mistake, but in return they forget about it. Maybe this is the curse, they forget. Except maybe Soobin and taehyun from TXT and Jin and Taehyung from BTS. Soobin and Jin remembers the loops, taehyun and Taehyung (according to the webtoon, where Taehyung has dreams I’m assuming this) remembers but the ignore it and calls it a dream. The cat is definitely an antagonist, with a very deep motive. It makes the boys think that they can solve the problem and save eachother (bts)/ remember the promise (txt) by listening to it. Maybe next we’ll see that the boys realize that the cat is manipulating them. And maybe in the BU game, we will make Jin realize that the cat is bad.

Theory: In my personal opinion (please don't attack me) GFriend aren't connected to BTS/TXT, but they have similarities, so there's that. About the creature: The cat is a spiritual guide. It's both good and bad, like Abraxas (the god referenced in Demian, and BTS' Awake MV and in a TXT stage). I also feel like it's a shapeshifter, as it was probably the dog in Taehyung's stigma (it comforted him). Maybe the creature comes when you need it the most. I'm sure we'll get more context soon.

Abraxas is neither good nor evil--a trickster like the Raven in Haida mythology. Actually, I just found a really interesting quote about trickster characters in mythology while refreshing my memory about the Raven: "Another common thread among tricksters is that they are wanderers, both physically and spiritually. “They often travel between the spirit world and the tangible world, as well as the areas in-between.” Some, like the Raven, can shape-shift to become human, spirit, animal, or even inanimate objects." I'm glad you mentioned shapeshifting as a possibility and the cat not really being a cat at all. Otherwise, I'd 100% feel that BigHit was reconning the cat to tie BU and +U together. This is because the "cat" in Save Me definitely started out as a dog. It looks cat-like in the webtoon, but up until then, there were no cats in the BU (aside from the calico in Serendipity, I think). I believe the Save Me "cat" was first introduced as a white dog in 2015 (BTS Begins Intro), then reintroduced as a white puppy in V's Stigma short film. One could argue that the cat presents itself as a cat for TXT and a dog for BTS because they're in different dimensions (or something like that - example: blue eye is BTS, green is TXT) "Cat & Dog", etc, but then it still wouldn't really make sense for the cat to be a cat in the BU in the new game trailer...unless the BU and +U have now officially crossed over?

BU THEORY: So, if we think that jin's dad also went through the same process but he failed to save them or the saved them but he became cold, OK lets put that aside I know a movie named "Butterfly effect" in that movie the main characters Love always gets into an accident so he tries to save her by all means but fails so what he does that he time travels even before he meets so that atleast she can be alive, BUT jin always time travels to April 11 and we have clues that thay had met before high school or atleast Tae does meet the cat in the 2015 BTS LIVE TRILOGY: EPISODE I. Jin and his friend knwn has "Mr. Choi's son" were getting chased and jin tried to help them but failed.(Note: The year sytem, I think is based of jin's age.Eg: Year 9 = Jin is 9y/o) So? Beomgyu is "Mr. Choi's son" or is it soobin?

I still have trouble seeing the cat as an antagonist, but more like Karma, neither positive or negative but capable of both in the right circumstances. I see it also like a manifestation of something, fear, wishes, weakness, insecurity... etc. What is its motive though? Why does she want to play with them? Why does she want to harm them? What is she gaining from it? Is she a demon feeding on their souls? She appears mostly when they are experiencing negative emotions like shame, sadness, worry, loneliness, fear. In Magic Island it appeared after the forest caught on fire and the boys were scared, in the form of the train which would have been their salvation, their way out of the burning forest, but it went wrong or so it seems. Can't wait to see how everything unfolds.

I didn't know where else to comment about this. So I will comment on this here. It's just something I was thinking about yesterday. And I feel like this is important. That time when people were saying that BTS plagiarized an idea, you know the “school concept” or the “schoolboy concept.” A lot of people never knew this. And the fact they were discriminated against really bothered me. We (some of us) knew they really didn’t plagiarize anyone. (I didn't bring this up to make anyone feel bad, it's just my thoughts on it.) BTS’s storyline goes way deeper than just the school concept. Since debut they’ve had this story, we know this because of the “Smeraldo” story, and the blog was started in June 2013, but the debut was around May too. I knew that there was something about them; that caught my attention, I didn't know how to explain it back then. Now, I can clearly say it is their genuine sincerity and their personalities that really caught my attention. And now we get to see all the albums since debut coming together in this BTS Universe Story ‘Map of the Soul’ game trailer. They have been talking about social injustices and other issues for a long time. Really think about it, I mean since debut and maybe before that. How much hard work went into all of this. The blood, sweat, and tears that were shed, and still they continue to go through it. Most of us would have quit or run away from it all. So it makes me feel sad that they are treated so badly. BTS and their BU storyline have a depth, unlike any other group. Something I haven’t seen many other groups doing and that is amazing. I'm so thankful and grateful for everything they've done for me and for the rest of ARMY. Now that I have caught up with BTS, TXT, and Gfriend; I can go watch the other group's theory videos :)

I think it is possible than Beomgyu has made a pact with the cat or is related to the cat because on his introduction video when he's sitting on the train and during the can't you see me/puma promotions Beomgyu can be seen with odd eyes they are purple and green similar to the cats. Another thing is that during can't you see me when we see Beomgyu fighting someone we can see a glimpse of a room/desk. Later during a t:time featuring taehyun we get to see a close up of the desk. This desk is the same desk that we see in the art concept trailer from BTS game BTS universe in which Jin is standing in front of the desk which is allegedly his father's . This leads me to believe not only are the two universe's contected but that Beomgyu did make a deal with the cat. I also believe that the eternity book may be another name for the map of the soul/Mr seok(jins fathers) diary. Also in one of bts's notes we find that there was a child that seok Jin once met who we the son of mr. Choi I believe it is possible that this child was one of txts Choi's I believe this child could be either of the three. Buti feel more strongly about it being Beomgyu. It is possible that. The man we see him fighting is Mr. Seok whom he takes the eternity book/map of the soul from( after traveling back in time with the help of the cat or maybe right before the time travel in the BTU kicks off) as an act of revenge for letting those men take him away leaving Jin in an endless search for the book. This could also be him fighting against Jin to get the book as we know it contains sensitive information about the universe which can help restore it. We also see yeonjun with odd eyes ice blue and red during the puma promotions. I believe it is possible that he also made an agreement with the cat. My theory is that he wished for freedom as freedom is a form of salvation weather it be freedom from a literal cage like in puma or freedom from the dangers and worry the cat has brought upon them. This may also backfire as he is seen dead twice in the eternally mv once in the destroyed stadium and once with taehyun and again in puma he does seem to be a center with him getting a lot of solo shots and main places. This is interesting. It’s like the cat represents destiny, fate, the universe itself since it knows past and present simultaneously and the future for both universes change but end up with the same thing, the boys losing themselves, losing sight of their purpose and dying in the process. I feel the cat is also the mysterious entity that runs the magic shop in the BTS world side story where it grants any wish but the payment is a precious memory. JungKook works there part time and helps the boys get their wishes until he crosses the line and breaks one of the magic shop rules about bringing someone back from the dead ( he brings Hobi‘s dog back for one day bcs it died unexpectedly and Hobi just wanted to spend one more day with it) but in doing so JungKook is fired from the magic shop but there’s a chance for him to be back if he manages to find someone who remembers him while he worked at the shop. JungKook finds the boys but don’t remember him except for Taehyung, so JungKook got his job back. Where I’m going with this is that JungKook has in some way meet the cat (or entity in a way) and is also stuck in a time loop that he can’t fully remember but Taehyung somehow does. Either way, the cat seems to be setting them all for failure. Your reference of “the cat playing with the boys as if he did with a mouse” is very fitting bcs no matter what the boys do (BTS and TXT) They still end up lost, hurt and even dead. I definitely agree. Also, the cat being a shape shifting entity first introduced (in visual format) in BTS' WINGS and TXT's DREAM Chapter falls into the "salvation" part that it plays for the boys. I think /it/ starts its manipulation by first gaining trust and offers consolation to the misery and desperation of each boy. But the question I really want to know is: why? Why does /it/ do this, and what does it want? Unless it's already been mentioned or explained somewhere, that's the question I've been WAITING for an answer to! Thanks for your video, by the way ;D

this probably is useless but I just watched coraline again and was reminded of the bxt universe cat since there is a black cat in the film. I found it interesting that there is an alternate reality which appears better than coraline's real world except everyone has button eyes...except the cat which appears the same in both the real world and the alternate world. I saw a coraline theory about how coraline never actually made it out of there and even though the cat appeared to help her, perhaps he did more harm. This comment is a little late, but here's what I observed. I'm sorry there's a lot of information lol. Thank you for doing an analysis of the BU game trailer and TXT's odd cat. Remember when I mentioned that the cat may not be evil. I got that strange vibe about that cat. It's weird, did it look evil in the "BTS Universe" game trailer? I said it feels like the cat is helping them. But I agreed with your theory of the cat as well. It's both good and evil. It's the trickster; like how Carl Jung describes that archetype. The Trickster is a complex figure that tries to ruin our plans, often appearing as a clown or jester; but it can also be a force that undermines our pretensions of the self, making a mockery of our vanity. The Trickster can alter its shape as it attempts to thwart our intentions, it will usually be for our best interests in the long run though. (The cat reminded me of the Trickster archetype) Just something I found online; interpretation ideas for the Trickster: Of all the people you know, who is the one person you find it most difficult to guess what they are going to do next, or what they are thinking? Did the figure change shape? Did you feel that your vanity had been uncovered in the dream? Were you made to feel ridiculous? I was thinking that the mirror Jin is always in front of had something to do with vanity. The Narcissus story actually makes sense in this too. And Taehyung is the one that is difficult to understand so far; I'm not saying Taehyung is bad. Obviously, the cat is difficult to understand as well. And I totally forgot there was a cat in the BTS “Save Me” webtoon and I know I saw one lol What about the train tracks? BTS and TXT are both around the tracks, since before the "Spring Day" mv ("I Need You" mv has train tracks) and TXT's "Magic Island" mv. The song 'Spring Day' is about friendship. It's always been around trains and the train tracks. In the BU Namjoon was staying in a shipment container, it was on a train track too. Train or train tracks can be a metaphor for the tracks in our minds/souls. I wanted to talk about the Kingdom Hearts games for TXT's "Eternally" mv theory, I'll just say this. Speaking of games again, all of this reminds me of the Kingdom Hearts game series such as the light and darkness, the beach, the train, dreams, cross-roads, waking life, putting your soul back together, an incorporeal voice talking to the main character, etc. And the boy on the beach with the cat is Taehyung, right? Or is it Jin? (It's probably Jin. I thought it was Tae.) I just thought this was weird too. You know where he meets someone in an office or apartment room 17. When I saw it I couldn’t tell what painting Jin was looking at in that office, it looks familiar to me and it's an old painting. And someone in the comments mentioned Gfriend's Marchen books. I remember watching an anime that reminded me of the tile "Marchen". It came out in the Spring of 2005. The anime is called: Marchen Awakens Romance or MÄR Heaven. This is what the anime is about: "Dreaming of a magical world every night, the young Toramizu Ginta yearns to be able to go there. I disagree. In the Marchen books, the librarian says only the powerful enough will be able to use the butterflies. Obviously, he can't use them, because he isn't as powerful as Eunha. The cat is very powerful (can shapeshift, both good and bad, travels in time, etc.) so it wouldn't make sense for the librarian to be the cat. But yes, he knows about the butterflies and the girls' powers.

The wise old man will appear as a figure of authority representing a superior insight and a higher state of consciousness. He may be a doctor, grandparent, spiritual leader, professor, magician, wizard leading you on a dream quest of self-knowledge. In Gfriend the wise old man is the librarian. The cat doesn't need to show it's power. Jin really wanted to make things right with everyone; to save his friends and the cat just shows up. For BTS it's part of Map of the Soul, so they might still be referring to Jung. What about the Trickster or trickster spirit archetype for the shape-shifting cat? The Trickster is within all of us just sitting on the borderline of conscious and unconscious thought. Tricksters can pull off intricate schemes to teach a moral lesson or expose the foolishness of man. The spirit/fairy in the"Eternally" mv is probably the Spirit archetype but the lady isn't evil or tricking TXT. So you might be right about the lady being the anima for TXT. For BTS, the anima could be the girls they met in the BU storyline. Jung says that the spirit often shows “signs of duplicity, if not of outright malice.” The archetype of spirit in the shape of a man, hob­goblin, or "animal" always appears in a situation where insight, understanding, good advice, determination, planning, etc., are needed but cannot be mustered on one’s own resources. The archetype compensates for this state of the spiritual deficiency by con­tents designed to fill the gap. That sounds like the cat.

I feel like that cat is trying to punish Yeonjun and Tae (for some reason yet unknown), and tries to isolate Soobin and Jin from the others: it's a harsh lesson, dealt upon them like a series of obstacles and trials, in a very Odin-like fashion. It also makes me think of the twelve tasks that Hercules had to achieve. The trials given by the cat are hard, and they will lose much because of them, but in the end, they will learn a lesson/reward that the cat considers as valuable enough to warrant such harsh treatment. It doesn't mean it will be in Jin's favour though, because I believe the cat's intentions are far more sinister. I feel like the cat sees Yeonjun and Tae as antagonistic figures meant to be a distorted reflection of the "protagonists" (Soobin and Jin). He torments them somehow: attempts against Yeonjun's life and psychological torture for Tae through his dreams of the timelines and his inescapable crime (the murder of his father always happens, no matter what Jin does to stop it). I think the cat has a very manichean way of seeing things. For him there is black and white, good and evil. This reminded me of that scene in the Highlight Reels where there is a transition between Tae's bloody hands and Jin's pure ones, filled whith white petals. As I said, sinners and saints. Kai and Jungkook feel like the "sacrifices". They are the youngest and the most innocent. And yet they seem to be the ones that are meant to pay the price instead Soobin and Jin. The cat appears kind of like some omnipotent deity, and in many religious texts, Gods demand a sacrifice from their Chosen (here Soobin and Jin.) The others are more like bystanders or obstacles. They themselves are the trials and the "protagonists" must save them to move forward. The story in itself seems very biblical in a way, or very much like something out of the Odyssée (maybe it ties in with the MV for ON, since that one was CLEARLY deeply rooted in biblical stories) So when it comes to the cat, here is my analysis: it's an omnipotent, morally grey entity/god with a manichean view of the world. It acts as both a judge and an executioner, almighty in its power and certain of its judgement, but unable to see its own faults and therefore twisting reality. It dooms Jin and Soobin to the dark by pitting them against the "antagonists", Yeonjun and Tae. One creates his own demons, and the cat decided that Tae and Yeonjun were doomed to be bad, and therefore had to be destroyed: it either tries to ruin or kill them because he decided that they stand opposite to his designated "protagonists". The cat is not much like the Christian idea of God, but more like the the righteous, capricious and sometimes malicious Gods of Roman or Greek mythology. Gods who picked favorites and were vicious. Gods who played with mortals because they had nothing better to do. Gods who killed and manipulated at will, just because they could and had the power to do so. or maybe it is a demon, a trickster (very Cheshire-like) or one of the Fae (very probable since they often took cute, unassuming forms, like that of animals), since these can uise pacts as well. So there is a high probability that Jin, like his dad, made a pact with a malicious deity that will play with his and his friends' lives until there is nothing left: wether it be his emotions and "soul", or his friends' lives and sanity. It's a game, a game he lost the moment he made a pact with the cat. EDIT: Now that I think about it, could it be that all the boys are reincarnation of gods??? All TXT members are trying to remembers their past, and BTS made a whole concept about Greek gods during the 2019 Mama performance...Could it be why the cat is hell-bent on tormenting them?

It has really good camera angles, and of course good storytelling. All the details we talked about are there. Namjoon with the world (his world) in chaos. Why is there a riot going on? (I figured out the reason for the riot and about more stuff about Namjoon) With Namjoon it's kind of difficult to tell from the video what's going on and I'm still not sure what happens to him after they all drift apart other than him living in a train trailer and growing up in poverty on his own. At one point, we only see Namjoon with Jin at the gas station in the "Save Me" Webtoon and in the storyline videos/trailers. The painting Jin is standing in front of that office and the camera panning/zooming into it; it must be important. Jin talking to the white cat. Jin finding a door, like with Soobin finding doors. Taehyung waking from a nightmare/dream or memory. Taehyung sending messages to everyone and him slipping their group picture into Jin's pocket. Jungkook getting hit by the car/truck and that white cat again, it was odd that the car just hit him and drove away like that. Jin actually reading the "Notebook." Jin is going back in time over and over again and the others are slowly remembering things that happened in the time loop. Jungkook drawing the image of him getting hit by the car. Also, we only know that Jin and Jungkook were approached by that cat. Jin had maybe a fight with Namjoon, him pushing Taehyung away. I don't know if it was his truck that hit Jungkook. (I thought that was strange.) The whole storyline starts with their debut and all albums leading up to now, (meaning Map of the Soul: Persona and Map of the Soul: 7). Also, the dates in the BTS Universe Story 'Map of the Soul' trailer all have the number 22 in them. I think when Jin hit the railing while he closed his eyes because of headache or something else in a different time line the cat was actually controlling jins car and that's why Jungkook mention it had blue and green bead-like eyes on the car so I think in that timeline the cat that was the car hit Jungkook but in jins timeline Jin hit the railing instead but the bump on the car was same and merged in one timeline that is Jins timeline.

Okay, now hear me out. I think it's plausible that BTS and TXT are in the same universe, but their stories take place at separate times. It's likely that once Jin successfully saves everyone from themselves in reality, he decides with the rest of the boys that it might be best for them to get back on the train or jump into the ocean and return to the Magic Shop (or Magic Island) and live out the rest of their lives there to avoid anything devastating happening to them again because the Shop provides safety, shelter and knowledge. Now, while in the Magic Shop, it's possible that while some members might already be with the one they love or the one they want to be with for the rest of their days (possibly Yoongi and Jeongguk or Namoon and Tae) but the rest of them would be so saddened by the face that they couldn't have the life they had once pictured for themselves that the Shop literally produces their children from just their thoughts just as it creates different creatures and entities (the cat, the witch, the tree, the moon, etc.). These children are most likely TXT. We already know TXT were born on Magic Island and eventually found their way TO reality as they grew and the fact that the Shop created them from a fragment of BTS' thoughts could tell us why they have powers. They're part of the Shop. It's possible that BTS told them stories of reality or Earth throughout their childhood and they decided to try out one of the ways they were taught to get there and succeeded. So now they're traveling to and fro. Now, like you said, Jin did make a pact with the cat by saying he would do "anything" to save BTS. And if Yeonjun is Jin's child or one of his children, he could've accidentally sacrificed his future child when it was ensured his friends would be okay. And also Yeonjun's blood was presented as purple in that one vision, so it could very well be a sign that it's Jin's blood or BTS's blood being spilt. Yeonjun paying the price for their chance (Jin's time travel) at a happily ever after.

I knew from the very begginning that BTS and TXT storylines were connected somehow. I was busy trying to figure out by myself how BTS storyline works and writing it down on a word document (I still don't finish it) but I'll do my best trying to explain at least one part of my theory. In my theory, BTS were servants of Abraxas (the god of both good and evil mentioned in Demian and had references in the wings era). But they decided to leave, because they didn't want to live like that. Jin was the favorite servant from Abraxas, so when he and his friends left, he wanted to gave him and the others a punishment for their actions, but like a challenge. They became humans in order to escape, and they became friends in the human world, but they still had a little of their abilities from their past life. So, Abraxas used this in order to punish them. He decided to prove them to see if their friendship was strong enough to make them live their lifes peacefully. That's why Jin always go to the same day, because it's a punishement. I still don't know how, but they pass the challenge (but they are still struggling with the problem that Jin has to find the map of the soul in order to be happy) and here is when Abraxas dissapears or dies (for some reason). In my investigation, Abraxas had other partners. The "Cat" is maybe one of them. The cat was at first helping BTS, because maybe the cat thought they didn't have to suffer (Jin making a pact with the cat in the webtoon), but when Abraxas dissapears or dies, the amount of help BTS is receiving won't be the same as it was before. The cat is a god too.That's why the cat can decide whether if become a cat, a train, or an unknown entity. Also, this would explain why the cat isn't affected by the time loop and can see what is happening in different universes and dimensions. He wants revenge from BTS, for killing his partner. And mostly the way he is representing his anger is by playing with TXT, making them suffer from something that wasn't truly their fault. This is all what I have to say. Abraxas, as I said in my coment, isn't as bad as it seems. He is the voice that makes Jin remember the time loops. He is both, evil and good, that's why he can seem two-faced. Also, Abraxas is appearing like a ghost in TU storyline (the skeleton in magic island). The boys knew him (I don't know why but they knew him) and he is trying to help TXT because he accepted his defeat. That's why the frase "remember my name" is always present in TU storyline.

They are risking their souls to help their friends, that’s a heavy and difficult sacrifice. That could be why Jin forgets and the others try to help him remember, maybe he sacrificed his memories. In my dream, I was floating in the air right above my hospital bed looking down at a different version of myself. The me in the bed was asleep. When jolted awake after a dream; it’s because when dreaming, your soul is actually leaving your body. And I think I mentioned something about sleep being the brother of death. Does that mean that Jungkook didn’t die because I remember he wasn’t around when Jin was first looking for everyone in the “Save Me” webtoon? Anyways Jungkook’s accident sounded really suspicious. One more thing is it that accident with the car; the one in “Wings Short Film #1 Begin too. He suddenly jolts up or wakes up from a bad dream or memory. Also, it sounded like Jungkook was underwater in the short film #1; besides the rain, which reminded me of Jin’s “Epiphany” Comeback Trailer. The underwater sound could be about Taehyung when he jumped off that tower or it’s Jimin in that bathtub. Jungkook said he feels hurt when his brothers are hurt. BTS and Big Hit really know how to tell a story. Reminds me of the Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien. We only know what the main character knows. I think that’s good storytelling. Keeps us interested all the time. What I mean is we are learning whatever BTS is learning in the storyline. So we only know what BTS knows, they are still learning and navigating through life.

I'm glad I kept on listening because I was like ooh that cat is trying to help Jin kill Yeonjun. So ONF - what is going on with them? Their first mv seemed like a cute story about boys wanting to go to space, then it seemed like somebody got lost, and now I don't know where any of them are in Sukhumvit Swimming. I just wanted to share this artist's video about her original characters and story: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZCaaoiZfMZmhKs (Please watch it and tell me the cat in DrawingWiffWaffles' story doesn't remind you of the odd eyed cat.) The way she described her story really reminded me of the odd eyed cat from BTS's storyline. We should never make deals with cats, that's all I'm going to say. It is eerily similar but different too; it's such a good story. I just have these synchronicities and collective conscious things going on with other artists, BTS, and their storyline, now with TXT and ENHYPEN. Edit: I was catching up on DrawingWiffWaffles' art videos and got to the video I mentioned earlier in this comment. Also, her artwork is amazing.
