The first time I saw this, I was like "what in the Hansel and Gretel is this?" As I kept watching, I realize that as your "star" takes a nap, you experience all kinds of issues with self acceptance and self worth, you run away from problems and acquire all kinds of wounds life can give you. nap of the star talks about insecurities. yeonjun has antlers which he is insecure about and he hates them. he has to wake up every morning just to see something he hates ,he looks in the mirror wanting to rip them out/get rid of them, so sad he goes back into his bed hiding under the sheets. little does he know there are people just like him (different)! soobin, taehyun, beomgyu all are different. then we have hueningkai, he is seen as an angel. but before that, yeonjun is woken up to the sight of the black cat who cuts his neck, this is only a metaphor for the pain he has. he then goes off and hatingly, he pulls and pulls until his antlers are ripped off. he doesn’t want to embrace he’s different he wants to be “normal” / “perfect” ,he sees it as a flaw. he is then brought to the sight of angel hueningkai who brings all the members together, to help him. but really it was the star, is hueningkai the star or apart of the star?

The five of them are five little stars when connected make the star in the sky which is the half of Taehyun's feature since he has only one star in his eye and the other is missing. Taehyun sings that in his dark world, others are the coolest color to him, basically meaning that Taehyun can't see properly without the star in his other eye which ONLY lights up when they are all together, that is why the star got destroyed/started smoking when they weren't together but when they got together, it started to light up in the sky again. I hope people can see the great message about this MV and the other songs :” This MV tells about the transition from children to adolescents. When we were children, we were very pure and innocent, we played without seeing our true identity (that's why at the beginning of the MV they cover their heads). We make promises and dreams together. But as we grow, we will pass puberty, the transition from children to teenagers. We begin to feel that something has changed with us, our bodies, and our thoughts. We feel transformed into different figures(this is described as a horn that grows in the head of Yeonjun). We begin to recognize our true selves, feel different from other people, and feel afraid of our changes ("am I going to be a monster?"). Our fear of other people's perceptions about the "horn" that we have makes us want to run away (here illustrated by Yeonjun who went to the forest). In his fear, Yeonjun wants to get rid of the "horn" on his head that makes him feel different like a monster. But Yeonjun met with other TXT members with the physical differences they had. TXT members see Yeonjun's "horn" as something wonderful not a weakness. They make Yeonjun feel "accepted" and eventually they become complementary to each other's uniqueness. This is relate with TXT song “CROWN” where TXT member sees the "horn" in his head as a crown because of friends who see our weaknesses as strengths and complementary things. TXT the dream chapter: star songs tells about the transition from childhood to teenager (puberty) where we begin to feel changed and find friends who are in line with us, accept ourselves, and complement each other. The second album TXT the dream chapter: magic tells the story of the magical moments they experienced when they were teenagers. Fun with friends, try challenging things together, rebel against rules together and feel like you have a world of your own. TXT the dream chapter: eternity, tells about the transition from adolescence to adulthood. They begin to recognize reality, begin to arise conflicts in friendship, drama, and begin to feel they don't know their friends anymore(can be considered as dark times undergoing the transition to adulthood) What a great concept of TXT :”)

I can say the main song on TXT album tells about this story line. *This concept! This is so unique from any other Kpop MVs I’ve seen. And the fact that we had no idea this was coming, made it even more exciting. BigHit is doing such a great job creating a whole new different concept for TXT. You can tell that all of their 3 MVs so far, are all different. Not only from BTS, but I think just from the Kpop world in general. The best MV of all time. Whoever was the mind behind this, i just want to thank you. Watching this i felt nostalgic, but there was fear and so many things i felt that words can't even comprehend. I don't usually comment, but this MV needs to be more appreciated. TXT's concept is definitely different from what i usually see these days, and it's good. Its nice to see them having their own color. And i hope that the years would come people would see TXT, not just as the successor of BTS, but as a kpop group who delivers a QUALITY content music and production. Bighit, the minds behind all of this, are truly a genius.

There story line is absolutely amazing! Especially the black “cat” or window or whatever you would call it because every time yeonjun sees it , it always changes what it looks like! But the way you can indentify it is the eyes! It’s green and blue. And with that fact they connected there story line with BTS because from what I remember when I knew BTS storyline is that I saw Jin from BTS signed a contract with that cat.

So, what i’m getting from the storyline of the mv is that it’s very similar to the storyline of Crown: Yeonjun wakes up and he sprouted antlers, which he is very self-conscious of. So he heads out into the world to seek answers, but is met with judgement and bullying. As a result, tries to rip his antlers off. But then he is saved my the other members, who all have their own flaws. So he learns that everyone has their flaws, and he should embrace his. :) That’s my interpretation of it, anyway. I love the storyline and the production value of the mv is so amazing!!! BigHit and the boys really went all out, and it’s SO beautiful.

I used to listen to this music before going sleep back then so that i can get better sleep. Since my parents got divorced when i was 4, i only had a small memories with my dad and barely remember his face. After we separated for almost 20 years and in December 2022 which also close to my birthday i received a message that my dad passed away before we could meet each other for a long long time. And now listening to this song just hits different for me. Also 0x1=lovesong who tells about love but if you're a broken home child the song will just hits you different. No wonder i'm so into TXT's music, not just about music. But they are communicate and understand fans through their musics, you can see yourself that you can't tell through their musics. The more you listen to it the more it hits you in so many ways

Why I love the message in Nap of a Star: 1.It starts out with Yeonjun waking up with an imperfection(his antlers) and freaks out. He hides, sad and afraid of this new change. To me, it symbolizes how quickly we, as people, can change, whether you like it or not. Obviously, the change in Yeonjun was unwanted and it hurt him severely. When the antlers poke through the bedsheet, it shows how the problem will cut through him and will prove to rip through him. 2. Yeonjun runs away from his problems(in the forest) and decides that it’s better for him to not be a freak in society and to live on his own. This stuck out to me because it’s a clear metaphor for people wanting to live in their own world away from a judgmental society. This isn’t always “running away” necessarily, but more of someone not addressing their problems head on and running away from them. 3. It shows the other boys(Kai with wings, Taehyun with a star eye, Beomgyu with spikes, Soobin with large ears) who have also run away from society and live in the forest. This shows that even though Yeonjun doesn’t know it, there are other “freaks” who have been outcasted by society. 4. When Yeonjun runs away from the cat, his neck is cut open. This shows a different way of running away from your problems, aka self harm and cutting yourself. He keeps running, with the cat symbolizing how large and out of control is problem is. The antlers represent his self image. 5. Yeonjun literally tries to kill himself by ripping off his antler. This is why there is blood. This issue is, he is unsuccessful. I believe it was representing how he cut himself extremely deep in order to bleed out. He looks down at himself and realizes how sad and depressed he is and how that wasn’t a good idea. 6. His angels(aka his friends) find him and help him recover. They surround him with love and support while he heals. Notice how all of them have found each other and love each other for being themselves. 7. The whole video is about self image and finding the other freaks. They don’t necessarily have to be exactly like you, but they know what you deal with and they know how it feels to be treated differently by everyone. They are your friends because they love you for you. Also, here’s something small but in the very beginning, they’re all wearing masks, and you can’t see their imperfections. The masks are all strange and lowkey scary. This is how society views these boys. Edit: Wow, just wow. Thank you so much you guys! I definitely didn't expect this much love and support on a comment! I actually was discussing this video with one of my close friends about a month ago. We were talking about mv's that we found really deep(we were actually comparing this video and I Need U from BTS) and we were talking about what made both of these videos so unique and, well, deep. This is what I sent her to prove my point about the Nap of a Star mv being such a deep, thought provoking, and relatable video. I don't really know how others interpreted the video, but this what I thought the mv meant when I first watched it. I cried so hard and I still cry every single time I watch this masterpiece. to shorten the theory, it's all about 5 unique boys who is lost, and didn't know what to do. Until they found eachother there, they really trust eachother, and very connected to eachother. Until they made a promise with a star. They made their own self stars who connects with eachother(Taehyun's eye). This explains why the star is not glowing until they connect and be together again. fmi(For my information): Yeonjun felt something was missing and unnacceptable, then realized there's a horn growing on him. He really hates it and feels incomplete. Then, he finally made his final decision to rip off the horn, so he can be "perfect". He doesn't feel any better after doing it, but then he met his friends again, and then realized that *he feels incomplete because he's not with his trustful friends* . I feel like this explains about a kid who has insecurities, and only trust his friends. But then he started to realize his bad answers, and decided to stop being insecure and follow his friends. -CMIIW!
