I am highly recommending doing a full album listen to this! From what you have said in the past about your music taste and about the types of songs you like from them, most of these songs fits right up your ally and some others might surprise you. I really hope you do it! The only other TXT album you have done is FREEZE

when u mentioned yeonjuns falsetto towards the end it’s actually soobins voice !! the album is a masterpiece btw and the choreography too u should check out their dance practice or studio choom/live performances

i'm so pleased to see this pop up in my subs!! i'm glad that you enjoyed it, and you're so right about this being similar to a key title track. that's probably why i like it so much, lol. i'm also in favour of more straightforward title tracks such as this one and some of what newjeans are doing, sometimes all you need is a great melody and a killer synth to carry a song to greatness. appreciated your commentary on the MV cuz i paid zero attention to it up until now LOL, i was nodding along to all the movie references.. men in black included! i haven't gotten to the album yet, though i LOVED their mini album from earlier this year so i'm very curious and excited to see what kind of vibe they go for this time around. thanks for the reaction

I also really liked the lowkey vibe of this title track, especially as Back For More had a lot of intensity, so this felt like a nice track to follow it up with. I do get what you mean about how the video could’ve had more impact but overall I still really enjoyed the MV. One thing about TXT’s discography is that every album is connected through an ongoing narrative, and this MV feels like the perfect continuation of the story told in their ‘Temptation’ album. Temptation told the story of boys being tempted to linger in the freedoms of youth until they eventually accepted they have to grow up and leave Neverland (which you can see as they head towards the ocean at the end of the Sugar Rush Ride MV). So this MV starting with them literally freefalling and crashing down into reality and then trying to reach that ‘magic’/youthful feeling in this new world felt harmonious and cathartic. I do hope you can check out the album if you find time, in my option it’s their best yet. There’s so much variety but every track still sounds so TXT (plus there’s definitely some rock driven songs you’ll probably enjoy)

Good Boy Gone Bad feels sooo different. How is that connected narrative wise?

@@KpopPrince So for a bit of context TXT’s Korean discography is broken up into “Chapters” and “Minisodes” which you’ll find in the title of their albums. The albums labelled “Chapters” are a direct part of the narrative TXT has been building since their debut EP. On the hand, the albums that are labelled as “Minisodes” are not directly part of the reality of that storyline, they act more like emotional interludes between each set of chapters. Good Boy Gone Bad was part of a Minisode album (Minisode 2: Thursdays Child) so the purpose of the album was to bridge the gap between the previous set of chapters (the Chaos Chapter) and the current chapters (the Name Chapter). Looking at GBGB as the title track alone, I can understand that it might not be clear how it does this, but you really have to look at the whole album to understand it. The album itself focuses on the mixed emotions one feels after a breakup by assigning a track to each stage of grief (denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance). This theme connects with the chaotic type of love established in the Chaos Chapters but also concludes it which sets up the current set of chapters (The Name Chapters) as it asks what path of growth will this lead the members on now? It’s a little hard to explain without going in depth with the storyline overall but hopefully it gives you somewhat of an idea about how it ties in. I know TXT’s discography page on Big Hit’s website has short summaries of each album and how they tie into each other if you ever want a little bit of context before listening to one of their albums.

Glad to see you back, and with a bop from TXT~ I do get what you mean about the MV lacking, they definitely could have done a lot more with it lol. The EP is a bit of a mixed bag for me, but you might like a few of the tracks quite a bit.

The synths pulled me in, ya know how it goes. It is definitely a more low-key title track and it initially left me feeling like I wanted "more". Even the choreo is very simplistic compared to a lot of their others but honestly I love the sound of the song overall so much that it didn't bother me. Hope you had a great visit with your mom!
