I’ve been a baseball fan all my life and I’ve always heard terrible things about Ty Cobb and this book definitely sheds some more light on these allegations and I have surmised that this was a very honourable man who did a lot for baseball a lot for himself and has been a victim of jealousy I believe

is extroadinary! As a lifetime Philadelphia sports fan, listening with an objective zeal for Ty's success, continues through the many playing years. He had a short fuse, yes. However, he was intelligent, played hard, didn't drink, and was able to complete 23 years of ball playing, satistically at the top, almost every single year.

No other account of any of Ty Cobbs controversies are explained as well as this book. It is a shame Burn's account of Baseball does such a poor job of describing Ty Cobb. He was not a "black mark on Baseball" but the best hitter ever and a decent man.

howard scott Agreed! No other great player has been defamed so badly and for so many years. He was the greatest player of the dead ball ever and possibly of all time.

Cobb was a great player. Probably the greatest. But he was a deeply disturbed man. Easily violently enraged.
