The Pan Flute is actually a Fairlight C.M.I. sample. A-Ha used the Fairlight extensively on the whole album. The Roland Jupiter 8 was another synthesizer that was used a lot on the Hunting High And Low album. You guys should just do a whole album review of Hunting High And Low
@Cta2006
@Cta2006 Жыл бұрын
It is correct that they initially used the Fairlight on the first album, but they were not happy with the result, so they scrapped it. They used the Fairlight on the two next albums though.
@ahkkariq7406

@@Cta2006 The Fairlight was Tony Mansfield's toy. He was hired to produce the album, but the result was not what was desired. Most of the songs on the album were therefore remixed by John Ratcliff and the band. That the songs were remixed does not mean that they discarded everything Mansfield had done on the Fairlight. They toned it down, and let the songs' original sounds emerge in the soundscape. This according to the book "Så blåser det på jorden" by Håkon Harket and Henning Kramer Dahl. Alan Tarney produced Take on me and The sun always shines on TV.

Agreed ❤️😎🤘🏼 Legends who have a true classic debut album, breakthrough videos, Hall of Fame lead vocalist, Fab looks, Magazine Covers galore, longevity without sucking, international appeal (whatever that means anymore, ha) & a Greatest HITS catalog that now goes on for days ... Wow 🤘🏼

I second the sentiment that A-ha sounded different. Although technically they were putting out tried and tested pop formulae, they were just different. A feeling that maybe isn't meant to or can be described. Myself their early stuff has a consistent epic and big-scale quality to it ? No doubt Morten's vocals contributed hugely to that. Also dare I say this, but the 80s was the last decade for freedom of expression in music, experimentation - free from a cut and paste business model that permeates today's music industry ? There is great music made today, but it has been pushed underground onto indie labels.

Agree about the '80s.Maybe that's the reason why youngsters and young reactors search a lot for the music culture back to those 2 decades.,exploring the '70s/80s.AS for Morten ,there's no other voice like him.And many A-ha songs can't be sung that perfect like Morten did.It's like a unique painting that is one of a kind. A-ha weren't just different.They were seductively different and magnetic.

The reason, I understand, that a-ha didn't release any more in the US, was because the record company wanted them to live there, but a-ha wouldn't do that. Paul was playing pan pipes.

Thankyou for reacting to A-HA. I subbed to your channel because you’ve reacted to them previously. I’ve been an A-HA fan for almost 40 years now since the take on me days in 1985 and the band are still together releasing their newest album october 2022 last year called true north. Take care and thanks again for the A-HA reaction they are such an amazing band yet so criminally underrated and unappreciated. 😘❤️🇳🇴❤️

When at college we had a friend who looked the spitting image of Morten and were the girls buzzing round him in the pubs of Edinburgh like bees round honey or what. Boy did we hate him. Hope he's really fat and bald now.

I liked your honest humourous statetment.ha!ha!Seriously if you asked me i believe that Morten Harket,Simon Le Bon and John Taylor were the most good looking guys of the '80s any band could ever had and maybe even any decade ever after.They looked like filmstars and many boys had some reasons to be jealous of.Personally i wasn't really 'jealous ' l quite admired them. and wished i looked like that. I dusted out Simon's look to the max he!he!.
