Join us for Tyanna's natural hair care routine for her 4B hair! Wash day, detangling, maintaining her afro style and kinky curls plus getting her hair braided and how I cornrow! I also shared all the products I use to help her hair grow strong and stay moisturized. Hopefully this video helps some foster and adoptive parents.

As a black woman, I honestly have to say I am proud of you . Though you didn’t give yourself too much credit throughout the video but I have to say I am really impressed with the hair care. And also how you handle her hair with care making sure not to hurt her. I am so happy she has such loving parents who care enough about her to learn her culture and even hair and skin routine . Am sure she’ll be very appreciative when she’s older. Also I don’t think you need to take her to a professional most black toddlers have these sort of hairstyles anyways so don’t stress yourself out too much. You’re doing an amazing job at being a black girl mum. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Exactly what I said.. she does an amazing job and she is very educated about our hair type amd regimen.. she is very well behaved getting her hair washed. I also washed my girls hair in the sink at that age and it wasnt this easy. They both do a very gd job taking care of her. My husband is Italian and if I had a camera everytime he did their hair lol it wasnt this smooth. I actually came home early having my last baby because when he came to visit my oldest daughter's hair was soooo greasy in the front and dry in the back that I know I needed to get home asap lol. I enjoy this family and im happy I found them. She has more knowledge than some of the mothers on yt that arent interracial.

@@horrorpop3292 lol. Its sooo much harder with mixed children.. its funny because 1 of my daughters hair is like her father whp is Italian and the other is like well lets say not like that and tryin to find what worked for them both was a hassle let alone trying to braid it lol

So how come so many (not all) black moms refuse to let their little girls hair flourish like this instead of perming them?
@mzsho
@mzsho 8 ай бұрын
@user-sp3er8rw9p First things first, I was celebrating something good here, so your caustic comment was totally unwarranted. Perming the hair doesn't take anything out of the beauty. It just makes it more manageable. I grew up in African and had my hair permed since I was c12years old, not to make it more European but more manageable. My hair was so tightly curled that it was pure torture to get it into a plait or weave. I suspect you are not a black woman, so you don't understand.
@user-sp3er8rw9p
@user-sp3er8rw9p 8 ай бұрын
@mzsho lies and cope. I'm a black woman with natural hair and I know the danger of relaxers. They burn the scalp and cause sores, they also permanently degrade the quality and texture of the hair. I think there's a pending lawsuit saying they cause cancer. Do you really think anyone against relaxers can't possibly be a black woman? Natural black women exist.

@@user-sp3er8rw9p I would say that "relaxers" are easier for Moms on the go. I relaxed my hair from the age of 13, I stopped at age 58! That's when I learned about the toxic chemicals and cancer concerns with relaxers. So now I'm totally natural, l don't even color anymore. And I can honestly say, I like my natural hair! (If rain isn't in the forecast, sometimes I even "straighten" my hair. 😉)

@Xander Hegle Well, I am not into generalizations. In my own family of young woman of all races, we represent the following professions: professor, lawyer, dentist, OBGYN, systems analysis, entrepreneurs and a small business owner. In many cases, not all but some, Caucasian parents with adopted African American children do not take the time or interest in the children’s culture. Managing our beautiful tresses takes more than an occasional shampoo. A well groomed person of any race stands out when he or she walks into a room.

This video brought joy and tears to my eyes just seeing all that you’ve done to care for your baby. I am a braider and you did a very good job braiding her hair and with her hair care. There is nothing wrong with how you braided her hair, you are a under braider and many hairstylist braid just like that. I am full joy with all your research and observation’s you’ve made to see what works for her hair texture. You are a great mom and may god continue to bless you and your family.

@Xander Hegle yes history through hair:). It was through African braids , that one determined their age, status, social status, tribe, religion, and so much more. It was also through our cornrows that many braided maps to escape captivity. furthermore, it was through our braids that they stashed seeds, for which they could use to start a crop on whatever land they could escape to. It is through our hair as a black community that we stay connected to our past as well as our present culture. History and our black American history is important to our culture and our identity. This includes the deep roots of history in our hair.As for the Asian community, I’m happy that they too are doing what works for them and their culture. I’m not here to compare , nor will I. I’m grateful for all our cultural differences, even through history.

This is very impressive. I have mixed ethnicities background and my white mum didn't even try. I grew up with a short boy style afro. I only saw that i had the most AMAZING curly hair when i was old enough to learn how to take care of it by myself. My childhood was so traumatizing. I'm 52 and i still have strong feelings about it. So.... What i want to say is that your effort is so important !

You need to give yourself wayyy more credit! You do such an amazing job of bringing balance and instilling hair confidence in your baby. I started watching you as a fellow nurse and everything else you share is just as good 😉. I can't express how much I appreciate how great of parents you both are. You can tell how much you love your child and how open you are regarding culture, pride, and family values. Sis! You can do some hair #periodt you have to give yourself more credit! You may not braid as fast as you can titrate sedatives but that doesn't matter 😂 I braid the same speed as you. Your parts are perfections, and I love love beads on little girls, every girl should have a bead phase 🤩

Rhianna you are doing a Fabulous job with her hair! I can't even braid that good! You can tell you are doing her hair with lots of love! One tip I can think to share for next time you do cornrows and want to add beads is take some of gel you use for her edges and put a little on on your finger tips and roll the end of the hair the product will make the hair "pointy" enough to go thru bead easier. Just a suggestion but you got this either way. She is such a blessed little girl to have you both!❤️.

I have been a licensed hair dresser for over 40 years. You are doing a magnificent job. So I applaud you. The only thing I can suggest is when braiding her hair to be careful of the hairline. Because if the braids are too tight, it will cause bumps to her hairline. Which is time causes thinning and loss of the hair around the hairline, which sometimes doesn't grow back, or grows back extremely thin. The other thing I've notices is she does a lot of swimming, without a swim cap. Swim caps are vital for black hair. Because the chlorine can destroy her hair and cause extreme dryness, which turns to breakage. If you don't use a swim cap, please be sure to use a heavy conditioner on her hair before, and after rinse completely then recondition even if it's in braids. Her hair will thank you..But again you guys are doing a wonderful job keeping her connected to her roots...Bravo!😊
