It's great to see a real in depth interview with this man. I've always enjoyed his music, but there was a mystery to who the person behind the music was. Thank you for doing this! Also, spot on with the connection between music on different platforms, tangible vs digital/streaming. I think there is a definite, more intimate connection on the former that allows us to appreciate it more.

To think you almost lost "Past is Prologue" blows my mind. That album, along with "Dive" and "Science of Patterns", are such a perfect trio to listen to and hold a special place in my memories. Like Com Truise, I have about 30 projects that are loops that I just lay down and need to get back to. Boards of Canada lead me to listen to both of you ethereal producers. This Friendship Hour was very eye opening into both of your backgrounds. Thank you for letting us into your personal lives.

Agree in relation to how music got consumed before. Today the music and the experience has been devaluated. Listening to music now is just opening spotify and having it as background noise to browse or do some work and sometimes go "ah, that is interesting!" - let's find something similar..." Like these gentlemen, I as well grew up with LPs as a young kid, cassettes as a young teenager, cds in my late teens and downloading as a young adult and now streaming as a 4th level human. I remember the experience of listening to the radio, and if you heard something you liked, you would go at the end of the month to the record store and get that music...you had to really listen and have an album grown on you. Develop. (I used to listen to albums 3 times in different days and then I could decide which song I liked and which I didn't - stopped doing this around the download phase). I am so happy I got to enjoy music back then like a fine whisky - no rush, just enjoying it - as a complete experience. BoC and Tycho were the first ones that made me again to want to get good headphones and sit down and listen intentively to music about 8 years ago. Today I am back to playlists and streaming but hope to continue practicing active listening. Definitely miss those days where you HAD to sit down and listen.
