Japan is my favorite vocal track on Weather and probably the one song that was actually enhanced by the presence of vocals, but this instrumental does a great job of harnessing what Scott called the "warm, psychedelic energy" of the original into this long, 6-minute trip with new melodies and sound design. I still prefer the vocal version just because the instrumental and vocals play off each other extremely well, but it's nice coming back to this instrumental after so long and appreciating all the detail in it.

This is the instrumental companion album to Weather. The songs are just the instrumental reworks of the vocal tracks with new names. The only "new" songs are Alright and Outer Sunset.
