I have now 35 feet and just love it over my other track so much i just sold it. TCR has my wife racing the jam car or me and we are kids again. I don't like when i drive to fast that i hit the wall in the curve so i will try the older curves. Thanks again for your fantastic layout and it was you that got me to change out . thanks again

My neighbor had a TCR track and I had Tyco slot car racing so we couldn't run our cars on each other tracks. One thing I liked about TCR was the high walls on the curves, your car couldn't slide off the track. Tyco tracks had the snap on yellow guardrails that were easy to lose or break .

I think I remember seeing some commercials for these, on television. And maybe NIKKO had something similar? I remember there was lane changing slotcar commercials atleast. Cool!

Where can i find some of the cool walls to add to mine.
@STEELE9999 Жыл бұрын
The wall are just poster board that I cut to size and glued on some gas, oil, and tire advertisements. I held them in place with thin nails inserted in the holes on the tracks for the flags. BTW. I'm happy to hear that this layout inspired your layout. Enjoy!

Thats a really detailed layout, appreciate the work that went into that! No idea how TCR works, I have scalextric but can the cars change lanes anywhere on the straights or only specific points? I see they can't on the corners because of the central barrier! 👍😎
@ghanthor3 жыл бұрын
Yes, you change lanes by flipping a switch up/down on the back of the controller. You can get corners with out barriers too, but then the cars end up going around them in the outside lane.

Are you using factor transformer or more higher voltage? I have a nice track not as big as yours but am running 24vac to 40va

1 factory transformer

@@87olds_rocketboii Sadly the track was taken down just after I posted this video. Everything is boxed up. Hopefully I'll be able to set it up again someday.

How do you switch lanes?
@grep673 жыл бұрын
There is a wheel on the controller where if you turn it left or right, makes the car change lanes..
@87olds_rocketboii3 жыл бұрын
@@grep67 are there mode for tyco tcr cars like faster drop in motors better magnets to grip track lil better?
@grep673 жыл бұрын
@@87olds_rocketboii there is nothing that actually "grips" the track better, but I have seen some modifications to the overall motors... have to be honest, the stock TCR car motors are well built, so you really do not need to modify them to make them go faster, they are fast as is! Any faster and you will spend more time chasing your car off the track and resetting, rather than racing! Its all about the driver and not so much the car!

I’d love to se how this was wired. My track was about this big, but serious voltage drops…
@STEELE99992 жыл бұрын
Quite simply it was one transformer connected at the terminal track with the two controllers. I just made sure that each track connection was cleaned before assembly. Considering how many have mentioned the problems they have with power, I guess I got lucky.

In later years it was picked up by TYCO
@87olds_rocketboii3 жыл бұрын
Tcr was made by many companies idealhad the most set up for the tracks but tyco had better quality cars and parts just not enough track set ups plis the 90s curve had that wall which is ok but I recommend getting the 1970s curves also they fit the 90s track and do not have the wall divider
