Ths original Daggit on the show was an actual dog, who was killed. To cheer up Boxy (the kid), after losing both his mither and dog, the robotic Daggit was made for him.

I remember the toy line, I had most of the figures and the Viper and Raider as well. The Vipers were modified and issued as a variation with the firing mechanism removed after a child choked to death on the missile (that's also why the rocket firing Boba Fett was never released). The Cylons were four points of articulation (the heads also turned at the neck, and they also moved at the waist if I remember right). The toys were never exciting compared to the contemporary figures from other lines, but were a good add on of heroes and villains while playing.
@chrisbooth4789 ай бұрын
Yep, had a lot of those as a kid. I didn't mind the mini figs and vehicles, just had to use your imagination more. I grew up in Southern California (Riverside) so the other big thing was going to Universal Studios and experience the show with the ride through the Studio Tour. Very fun as a Kid!

I can tell you this. As a kid I could care less about the larger action figures. All I wanted was the ships. I had all of them, minus the land vehicles. The only thing that bummed me out about these is that the Cylon Raider should have had 3 Cylons in it.

I played with that Starbuck fig and Cylon quite a bit. and I loved the ships, didn't matter to me if they were smaller, and I liked pulling them apart and putting them back together with different combos! but I also kinda liked the "idea" of Battlestar Galactica a little better than Star Wars as a kid

Those 2” figure size ships seem like a toy line that may have been in preliminary stages that was repurposed for Galactica to get them out quickly. The larger 12” figures WERE repurposed from another line, so it's not a stretch. They missed the boat by not doing just a 3 3/4 line of figures and ships. Also not painting the faces was a major mistake.

Boltar was main antonist in the series despite the fact he was executed in the movie and they never revealed how he was brought back. The BSG ships were the reason we never got a missle shooting boba fett after a child choked to death on a firing missle and another lost an eye to it.
@joe30197720089 ай бұрын
the death scene was cut from the tv show due to the fact the actor who played boltar threatened to sue due to the fact he was promised a more starring role in the movie. so, when the show was aired to tv, they cut his death scene to give him the more starring role as the main villain. hence why the confusion over him being alive still compared to the movie version.
