so i was casually browsing YT watching some TYflow destructions. OK, so this is how you destroy stone or concrete objects. looks pretty neat i get it now. but what if you wanted to do glass or even wood? because a voronoi fracture would look completely wrong on them. then the YT algorithm answered: here is a video on how to destroy glass and wood using the same Tyflow techniques you saw before.... hmmm k, so dont get me wrong. im really grateful you take the time to share your knowledge. And given your years of expertise in the vfx buisness and me just being a backseat commentator from archviz you are probably right when you say this will suffice for most fast action production shots. still im feeling kind of empty after watching this video and get no real answer to the question i had. I want to see wood break and splinter. not disintegrate like gunpowder. i wanna see glass forming the typical spiderweb structures. how would you do that kind of thing?

Thanks for this and make your course available publicly because what the advantage and dis advantage making course available for couple of weeks and couple of months is first advantage is people try to learn fast like deadlines by enrolling because your course will expire in future so soon and dis advantage is that only few people who watch your videos can be enrol course but people who are going to start their vfx journey in future it is problem for them because they miss lot and lot of marvelous tutorials series from you many people who are learning vfx they doesn't know that there are some incredible in-depth tutorial series regarding to vfx . I hope you may understood sir by doing this you will get more views I mean lot of people see your videos at least some of them will try to follow you thank you thank you Allan for this wonderful help

Thanks for me I care more about people taking action and learning. I've been making tutorials since the 90's and I have regular meetings with my team about how we can get better results from students. It's human psychology to hesitate and so I spend weeks making these lessons of course I don't want to take them down - but I've learned from decades of doing this that people are their own worst enemy. They will download lessons and never do turn, never learn and therefore never get results. I don't care for likes I care for people learning and getting jobs and leveling up their career. Most tutorials cover how to click a button and make a cute result - it's the reason these lessons are focused on how to actually do something, how to simulate what we do in production. Because I want to better prepare everyone to land jobs. I've hired plenty of people who've done my tutorials and recommended plenty of others. I want to reward those who apply themselves So just like all the other training, this training will disappear soon as well. Because if it's important to you you will make time to do it and you'll be better off for doing it. I realize everyone is busy, I definitely am and it's taken me weeks to put this training together which when it comes down to billable hours is a lot I miss out on. But I do it and I present it this way because I want to reward those who take action and invest back in themselves. If this training is important to you - you'll make the time and you'll be better off for it :) I appreciate the comment and I appreciate the support I also appreciate those who are putting in the time to better themselves and making time to go through this training So make the most of it while it's available - because later this month it will go back in the vault - with Thanos, venom, fireball, plasma, vampire ashing, decay and all the others. But if you work hard now to do the training - the skills you develop now will last you the rest of your life ♥️

Hi Allan, are you going to use Tyflow (instead of thinking particles) and phoenix FD (instead of fumefx) for your future video? I want to know which one to concentrate so that i'll be able to follow along. Thanks
@AllanMcKay
@AllanMcKay 4 жыл бұрын
I like tyflow a lot but in terms of jobs TP still is more heavily used it film. And I feel the rule based workflow allows more power. I think tyflow is really powerful and easy to use plus currently free. So I felt it's easier for people to pick up the concepts there's this way and then apply them to other software and plugins easily Workflow wise once you understand the concepts you can apply to any package. So I'm happy to make some lessons in tyflow but I still think for production if you want to do Hollywood film - TP is a better bet right now just in terms of butts in seats. Fume and Phoenix are identical. I just chose Phoenix because I've covered thousands of hours of fumefx training (my courses I've clocked over 3000+ hours of fumefx) so I just wanted to cover some new ground. Once you understand the concepts the software becomes irrelevant. That being said Phoenix does also include water which I think is really cool. TP has recently added lots of support to Phoenix so I do feel like it's a good bet. But either tool is great Hope that helps! BTW would you be interested in me covering other tools? Either not fume - or Maya, Houdini etc?

Hi Allan, will the Thanos assets/videos ever be available again? This would be infinitely helpful for an effect I'm hoping to pull off for my Student film. Thanks a lot for your great content!
@AllanMcKay
@AllanMcKay 4 жыл бұрын
Hi LittleBlurCar - unfortunately the training is only available for the window that it's available. It's incentive for everyone to follow the training while they can. Otherwise everyone just downloads it and never does it - and my goal is to get people to learn and land jobs. So at least right now I don't see it coming out again as free training - I might consider adding it as a bonus to the Live Action Series course for students in that. But probably won't ever publicly be released again. Same goes for this training once it's over - but I have extended the date to March 20. If you do have any questions though I'll do my best to help - feel free to shoot me an email. Thanks again!

Question , there is any chance that the destruction can be arbitrary ? like when the bullet or the object hit , that will become the shattering ? i remember that rayfire has something like that.
@AllanMcKay
@AllanMcKay 4 жыл бұрын
If I understand right that's what we are doing here - when the bullet hits it shatters the glass based on velocity. But if that isn't what you can you please explain further? Thanks again 🙏

@@AllanMcKay No , you already use the voronoi fracture and the object is already fracture, what i want to say is that when the bullet hits , thats when the fracture begins.
