Hey, thank you for watching!! Do incorporate protein treatments into your regimen? If so, what’s your go to product. I would love the hear 😊. I’m just now starting to take my protein treatments seriously so I will see how it goes by the end of year.

I use to use bontanika protein treatment when I was transitioning every 6 to 8 weeks. It helped to keep the natural hair strong. I think it would be too strong for my fully natural hair...so I use henna and placenta which works great. I only used it once since being natural (4 months). I only use it if my hair is feeling mushy and it's sticking together too much.

Ive never done clay masks cause I'm afraid it won't wash out completely.

All the ones I’ve tried always wash out with no problem. Maybe it depends on the formula of the brand you choose.

How have you liked your year with protein @Tyiece? I wish more protein treatments were on the market.
@Tyiece2 жыл бұрын
Yes I agree. Full potency protein treatments are so scarce on the market. The natural hair community makes them scary and leans more towards moisture. My hair is doing great with protein. I do need to be more consistent with it. I can go months and forget to do one.

@@Tyiece Me too. I need them to make more! I think a lot of people don't know there are different kinds of proteins. I have been exploring and saw a list of best types of proteins for different porosities but honestly, I think part of it is that people are having a build up of smaller hydrolyzed proteins and silks in their hair so maybe there is less water as a result. People wanted everything to "absorb" into the hair. But I miss my non hydrolyzed protein treatment. I have heard that collagen, silk, wheat, keratin all affect hair differently. I dislike keratin treatments. I used to enjoy the aphogee keratin and green tea restructurizer but stopped when the no oil no butter stylists said I did not use it. I have heard protein treatments often times rinse out a lot of benefits and I liked that it was a spray I could use on my ends kept them strong. Maybe I will do some protein soaks on my ends or something since that is the most porous part of our hair. No protein treatments plus no oil was hard on my hair because I lost strength. I saw a lady on one of their instagrams who got hygral from switching out her products (?) and doing it but I think that it just isn't for everybody's hair. My almost year without protein and all the hard shampooing and no oil was very damaging. I know I will have to edit this later because we know how the fans are, I did not even comment on your video you did on that. It is nice to see you with a cosmetology background giving us the real means more than you know. My dumbass thought water could not absorb into my hair with oil in it then used a dangerous chelating shampoo to get it off. Looking back at pictures clearly even with oil the hair was absorbing water smh. And I think I will go back to deep conditioning too since we are here on this topic.

I did a DIY protein treatment-avocado, aloe Vera, olive oil, coconut oil, & 2 eggs, I did it early January. I’ll do it once I take my crochets out (getting them tomorrow)
