A knot everyone needs to know, I usually tie a clove hitch by wrapping an x directly onto the pole lashing style.

Try this, it’s much faster if one end is open.

One of the beauties of the clove hitch is it holds in both directions. You can go from knot to knot retightening a complex lashing pulling the slack to the rope ends. The other advantage is if you slip the loosened knot off the end of a pole it dissolves without a tangle.

I’ve never tied it like that but that’s neat, I’ve always tied it directly around the pole. It’s good to have options.

Yes so much faster to slip it over.

Very well explained and fimed. I think knot videos/ instructions are confusing due to the vocabulary sometimes used. Knot lingo is pretty specific and not current in most people's lives.Thanks for the video.

❤ Hi Lisa, thanks for the instructions. Looking forward to doing the whole tarp setup. Are the poles used to do the setup the same poles you use to propel and maneuver your canoe ?
@3_Minutes_With_a_Maine_Guide7 ай бұрын
Yes they are! Have pole, will travel!
