Thanks for giving the time to comment Kevin! I totally agree with you on that baitfish are my personal favourite. The Thunder Creek works here in Iceland, but it's barely used by any angler. You're welcome and thanks for giving yourself time to view my content. :)

Thanks for stopping by Michael! Thanks! I think the Thunder Creek Minnow is a great over all fly. It's on the other hand not commonly used here in Iceland at all. I remember seeing it first in a fishing magazine when I was a kid and always wanted to tie it. It works as a salt water pattern here for seatrout, but fishing seatrout here in salt water is not common at all! Happy Mother's Day! :)

Nice MINNOW fly -- good video and thank you Ivar

Thanks for stopping by Mike! It's a nice Minnow and I like the bucktail because it gets softer when it gets wet. Long video, kind of too long, but a lot of stuff explained in it. The Icelandic version is like half longer and everything explained in detail about working with the bucktail. Bucktail in detail..... new fly tying material? Detail? LOL

Nice job of tying, Ivar. I tied my first Thunder Creek when it first appeared in a fly tying magazine, & it was a real struggle. It does get easier after the first few efforts. I always followed the pattern recipe but wonder now if adding a bit of red marabou at the sides of the red thread would add to its effectiveness.

Thanks for the comment Bob! Thanks again, it's simple tying but not always easy one. You need strong thread for this pattern though. I saw this fly the first time in a magazine, many years back. I agree with the marabou idea, I've also seen this fly tied out of marabou so the bucktail is replaced with marabou totally. I'll have to try that version as well.

Lovely Minnow pattern, and love the blue colour of that bucktail.. Ivar what make is your vice as I've been trying to get a set of jaws the same as yours for a long time.

Thanks for the comment David! I like this minnow pattern and baitfish pattern in general. I'll be tying some and adding new versions next tying season. I'll post like maybe 1-2 new videos in May and than the channel is kind of hypernating during the fishing season. I might reshare some videos that were popular. My vice is a Renzetti 2304, bought at Ole's Fly shop in Miami Florida. :)
