Daughter just got me your book for my birthday. An excellent piece of work which will take pride of place on my tying desk. It seems like black magic to me that pointing the camera on my smartphone at the coding icon opens up the you tube video for the appropriate fly. Not a gimmick a real aid to the fly tying. Well done!

This makes me want to start tieing again. First time I tried tieing was about 20 years ago and I didn't have the patience nor any idea what I was doing or how to do it. So I might have to see if I can't find my old tieing tools and see if I can start making some flies. Thanks Mr Clarke and another great looking fly sir.

Before I had any idea how to tie these, I observed a tier at a demonstration who made it seem way too difficult. Barry, you made that tie look very easy. We'll done!

Now, that is outstanding. Just copied your tie, and it works superbly. I find it needs a long shank dry fly hook if it's not to be crowded. Not a beginners' fly, but it's doable.

Thanks Barry, exzellent flie. Your way of tieing remmemders me to the precicion of Lennart Bergqvist in bis Book „flugbindning på mitt sätt“ which gave me the oportunitie to start with tieing during my years in Sweden. Ist is some time ago.🇸🇪 Ist is a Great plesure to follow your patterns- Not only in your book „Fliegenbinden 48 Muster vom Meister“.... The best of all: i understand every detail - which is not easy for many presentations!

Wow Barry I just took a look at your place on google earth.. you are one lucky fella living buy all of those rivers.. What kind of fish do you catch up there in Norway? Trout I suppose but do you have things like bass or crappie or kokanee? I live in vancouver washington we have the big old columbia river but it is cloudy a lot and I am used to fishing clear small rivers and creeks.. so I am just starting to learn how to fish muddy waters.. thanks again for sure a great little fly.. carry on.. let me know when the book will be out..
@Thefeatherbender4 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks, yeah I'm lucky alright! No only trout, sea trout and salmon.

@@Thefeatherbender sea trout.. for some reason I never thought of fly fishing in the sea.. isn't that strange.. because I lived on the coast and most of my life have not been more than 70 miles from it.. Amazing sometimes how the most obvious things can just slip your mind.. PLus that view you have from your place must be very inspiring.. the took out the woods behind my place and built a bunch of ugly two story houses.. now I just have houses all around me and I find I am back in the city again.. rats!

Hey how's it going? I just want to say I am always amazed how easy you make it look and do such an amazing job! I also have been looking to get that vice you have and was wondering if it's worth the investment I've been saving for almost a year to get the master vice but notice you have to by all the accessories witch also are very expressive in your opinion is it all worth it ? I really wish there was a way to try it out first thank you for your time and information I advance have a wonderful day keep up the great work from your biggest fan Dustin

Hi Dustin, Thanks, I hope that you can learn something from them. I own a lot of vices, everything from the cheapest to the most expensive and I have tied on them all. If you invest in a Swiss Master you will not be disappointed its the best vice I have ever used and will give you years of pleasure. If you haven't seen this watch the Swiss Master himself explaining the vice. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rmq6pJ54l9Sil7c
