Catching the dubbing in like that isn’t something I’ve seen yet. I really like that idea. Thanks!

Always loved the Wulff series of flies. The Royal Wulff being my favorite. Excellent as always. Much thanks

Nice one Barry! The Wulff has been around for ages and for a good reason - they work well. I think that they are effective because they imitate a small moth that frequently ends up in the water. There are no moth "hatches" (locally) so the Wulff makes a good search pattern as the fish seem to watch out for them - guess that a fat moth is a welcome snack at any time of the day. I tie most of my Wulffs in a tan color with snowshoe hare's foot fiber wings. Thanks for posting!

Thanks Hank. The White Wulff was originally called 'The coffin May Fly' and was designed by Lee Wulff to imitate exactly that but a few years later, he was persuaded by Dan Bailey to change the names of all three original Wulff flies (that all had mayfly names) to the Wulff series. But the White Wulff does work for a number of fishy foods...

Another bit of goodness there Barry. It makes me wonder what kind of a person dislikes a great video like this. This has always been one of my favorite night flies. We used to travel to NY and fish in the beaverkil. Camp on the side of the river. I used to fish this fly at night when the green drakesvwere hatching. Wonderful night fly and a good hunter too. Good health and thanks again.

Thanks Stan, well it makes me wonder somewhat as well... But it takes all sorts! That sounds fantastic, I have never fished in the US, maybe one day. Take care out there.

Just want to say many thanks for the videos, I have learned a lot from you and tied some great flies with your guidance! Just out of interest, what scissors and bobbin do you use/recommend? I've been struggling along with some very low quality tools and feel I'm now long overdue an upgrade! Many thanks

Thanks EAP. I use a Petitjean bobbin and Renomed and Kopter scissors .

This pattern with some red in it like a royal wulff is brown trout medicine here in early october.... ..this one is a great floater...doesent take too many false casts to keep it dry...thanks barry

It could have used a bit more hackle in front of the wing to balance it out better...
