This fly has become a guide staple on the San Juan River in Northwestern New Mexico. It does a good job of imitating the various kinds of moss that float down the river, and become available as a high-calorie food item for trout.

Great explanation and tie! I see quite a few fish ( on the Juan) head shaking moss. I should fish the Bunny Leech more.

This is so interesting. I was just at San Juan on Wednesday. Water was a little milky, but caught a few nice rainbows at BOR.

Yeah, the lake turns over in the winter, so the water gets off-color

I also like to take a wrap under the tail which doubly helps tail stand up
