Quite scruffy...I'm going to have to tie up a few for my box. Thanks for sharing, Mr McPhail.

Thanks Davie. Another cracking 1st class ‘indicator’ and lead fly - and a killer I’ll bet (though I very, very rarely bag a fish now - unless requested by old anglers/friends who have given up the sport)

That should float a boat anchor!. I've used Ultra Yarn for split wings and a F fly caddis type thing. They float all day. Also they pick up light in a way that seems to mimic fluttering wings. Good stuff cool fly.

Hi davie seen Tony backs pattern of the murthly monkey in this months trout and salmon magazine any chance of tying it when you have time.

Looks like one of those big nasty Hawthorn flies you get down at Draycote 😂… I can see it as great indicator fly on many lakes as you say … 👍👍

Thank you, Davie. Was your first KZbin video really June 26, 2009?

Hi Ian, Yes that was the first video I uploaded on this channel though I did have another one before this under a name called Peatymann which was a name I used for only platforms..I can't remember the date I made the account but it was around 2006/7, I closed it down after I opened this one under my real name...I can't believe how long I've been doing this now so I hope I'll be around for a few years more... All the very best Davie

@DavieMcPhail - I knew I must have been learning from you for more than "just" 15 years. Thank you for every day of it.
