Great version Davie. Ant tips on how to stop the lid sticking on the fulling mill superglue.
@DavieMcPhail2 жыл бұрын
Hi dastgaz, This used to happen to me a lot at first and the main reason I feel was that I never closed the top just so that I could lift it as I went along..So I started to at least screw the lid down a couple of turns and this really did help as I can't remember when I last had one close up..I'm glad you liked the fly.. All the very best Davie..

I done some of my long pheasant crest like you showed it worked very well and looks great. Thanks mate. Best Regards, Ken 😊

Hi Davie Thank you very much for the great flies you tie, you have improved my tying by 100%. I have a request for you if possible, on the Tyne the Ness C is a very popular fly I struggle to get the proportions correct! Is there any chance that you could tie your variant of this very popular fly? Thanks in advance.

Hi Jonas, I really like a 4 inch razor scissor which you can buy from many companies, I also have bought them off ebay though they can vary in the finish but mostly they have been good...At the moment I am using a pair from Fulling Mill which are very good...I also like a small pair of curved scissor for very fine work...I'll attach some links to them for you to see.. Hi Josh, I would probably tye it much the same as the double and around the same size as well especially for Iceland as they do like a small fly like the Haugur..I'm glad you liked the fly... All the very best Davie...

How do you form those perfect wings on your salmon flyes?
@DavieMcPhail5 жыл бұрын
Hi Gustav hurtig, I don't always get it right but I try and work with the materials and not over dress the fly as this will cause you lots of problems especially with the wing..Watch the video and you will see that I taper out and taper back right to the hackle as this will almost always give you a good wing.... All the very best Davie...

@@DavieMcPhail hi! My roosters have pretty good quality capes and saddles, but they have a lot of other feathers on a complete skin. Many of which I have no idea what they would be called or what use they could be put. In fact I have a vast untapped source of roosters, cock fighting is still a very popular activity. I don't put my roosters to the pit but everyone I know that keeps roosters keep them to fight. A fighting rooster is worth about $100 a lose (dead) is worth $10 for the pot! There are several of my friend knowing I'm a weird foreigner fishing with "feather bait" that think they may have second line of business and have asked for advice, which I can't give them. So that is the two reasons I'm trying to learn. But thanks for taking the trouble to search and I've watched both. So thanks a lot.
