Excellent innovative fly pattern. I have never bought EP fiber because frankly I can use other materials for much less money. However, I may have to buy at least two contrasting colors (on the darker side as you suggest) and tie this fly. It is so different I feel I have to put a few in the box just to pop some eyes, and hopefully, catch some fish in the process. All the best to you, thanks for sharing, Sean

This is a great idea. Thank you for sharing it! I’m looking for one that will dive around 8-10” when you hard snap/sweep it (down and away) with a tight line, and ideally take around 3 full seconds to return to the surface. Or basically a slow ascend rather than just popping right back to the surface. Does this sound like something your Fiber Minnow will do?

Whats the foam body used? I saw this video and immediatly had to tie a few, i didnt have any hard foam so i used regular gurgler foam but im not sure if that will have enough floatation

Noel Garcia the foam Craig used is a precut closed cell foam called bug body and is available at many fly shops. The EP fiber as tied sparse has little effect on flotation so the foam is counteracting the weight of the hook. You want it roughly the same size and shape as the bug body. Two pieces of 2mm closed cell foam glued together and shaped might work.
