I found the technique with the Blue Jay really, helpful, Davie. Thanks so much.

An absolute wild brown trout killer on the western lakes particularly up against the shoreline in a wave and over rocky limestone formations...an amazing cocktail of pattern color and light transmission... a strong fish take + hook-up feels like you've snagged the rocks 😄

Hi Davie, Great video as part of your series for tying Bumble patterns. What is particularly interesting is the way you covered the variations in colours and descriptions for Golden Olive capes and materials… very useful. Regards, Wayne 😀👍

The third cape looks like an old Dave Rice/Wapsi cape. They were the closest thing to a true Golden Olive (as per Malone) I've found which were mass produced. Rod Tye always had a good golden olive too.

Davie, thank you for the Kingsmill series, if you have the book can you share the images of the bumbles along with the materials from the original text? It’s almost impossible to find the book in the USA, much less the materials. But they are my favorite flies. Cheers
