This is a great snail imitation. What can be substituted for Daphnia fritz? Bass in weedy ponds will inhale snails. Another good pattern, thank you Davie. This pattern looks like a tailless baby mouse.

Yea most fish that regularly eat snails are smell hunters, but any muddler design is going to be taken by something hungry, those chunky insects are high in protean.

Do you fish that on the top, or do you use a weighted line or sinkers?

Hi C Naj, You could fish it on any line and anywhere on the cast though fishing close to the reeds using a floating line and the same way you would fish a dry fly is great..They also get blown out into the loch so fishing them at different depths can do really well so you may want to fish one on the sinking line, I would put it on the top dropper myself..
