Tying the Slim Beauty

This is a GREAT knot for joining monofilaments of very different diameters, for example for leaders with bite tippets for billfish and barramundi, where we're joining 20 or 30lb to anything from 50lbs to 200lbs. It's easy to tie and very strong. Like many knots, it's also even stronger if you double over the tippet first, then tie the knot with that doubled section. Wrap the tippet section 5 times down then 4 times back - that is sufficient.
