Regarding the Lemongrass, from what I've read it doesn't seem to encourage any unwanted detangling, which would make sense when you think about it; lemon is a highly acidic fruit so it would make sense that it would TIGHTEN the hair if anything (similar to how your tongue/taste buds tighten up when you eat a lemon). Also it's been stated that lemongrass helps with both dandruff/scalp issues (for anyone that has a sensitive scalp) as well as it's hair growth promoting properties. So I'd say you're good with continuing to use it!

OMG! your locks are both so tiny mine started at that size but I joined them over time because I felt my 3c fine hair was vulnerable, I am almost 1 year locked. You and your mum are georgous, you're much looks so young. Look forward to seeing when you hit the 1 year mark.

l was so considering sister locks, but the maintenance scared me away. These look so good and actually is what l am looking for in terms of being able to style. This is right up my alley. Also, try the Texture ID clarifying shampoo from Sally's. Used it for the 1st time. Love it

The nice thing about sister locks is the guarantee. The grid and the maintenance are standardized. Sizes are too. If you can maintain your own hair and don't have textured ends, I might say go for other locks.

Love your videos. I started my mini twists almost 5mons ago after being a loss natural for 17yrs. As far as lemongrass, I never heard of the detangling thing. I've used it daily for several years and in a spray bottle with water, jojoba, sweet almond, avocado, vitamin E, and castor oils. Additionally, bugs do not like lenongrass so you won't have an issue with them flying around your head!!!!

Clarifying your hair constantly without following up intense moisturizing shampoo/deep conditioner will leave it parched.

You can cut off those balls, you also should follow up with a moisturizer shampoo to add some back to the hair. You can also moisturize with aloe juice or rosewater then a light oil to seal. Locs are pretty. I put different essential oils in my moisturizer mix.

Lemongrass is my holy grail. I love the scent. I use peppermint, rosemary and lemongrass in my water, however I add more lemongrass than the others for the scent. Never heard that it aids in de-tangling but it sure does nothing for my 4C hair so I will continue to use it on my starter locs.

Beautiful locs! I see a huge difference but i started with your installation video, today. I love the smell of lemongrass essential oil too but i got sunburn on my scalp last week from being in the sun for less than 10 minutes. It was definitely my fault for applying in the day instead of my usual evening application. Be very careful!

I've decided I'm taking the plunge. I'm going to put super tiny micro twists in my hair without products, with the exception of some oil, and then interlock the roots and let my hair loc. I have about 18 more twists to go, in which i plan to finish to tonight, which will leave me with 657 total!!! I cant believe I did them all myself. I used lemon juice for my micro locs because of my texture... it helped my hair bud fast.. so why would lemongrass de tangle? Sounds untrue to me.. but I know oils help de tangle.. maybe that’s what they meant... let’s ask confuscious because I don’t think that’s right 🤷🏽‍♀️
