As a deadhead, it immediately reminded me of that same part of Greatest Story from the Bickershaw Festival Europe 72 show (5/7/72). The band clearly has a reverence for the dead, or at least they did their research.

That was a great concert! Tyler Childers and Charley Crockett were outstanding. I couldn't for the life of me understand how Tyler wore a jean jacket at this show? It was unbelievably HOT that day...like 95 degrees when he came on. Half the crowd left after Tyler finished his set.

Way to absolutely CRUSH it!! This had me looking into the origins of the song, I got to see “The Dead” live at the forum and this song aka water “pump song” didn’t make the set list. Such a Great rhythm and stoked to dig into it more thanks to y’all , this tune seems to be on a continuing path of evolving ….”stay like water my friends” haha.
