Being from Boyd County Kentucky, Tyler has been an influence for me getting into playing Bluegrass since I got out of the Army. He speaks for a lot of us Eastern Kentuckians.

Go see him live. Saw him in March for $20 in Pittsburgh. Going to Philly in Oct. The cheap days will be over soon. His band the Food stamps are amazing too

Got to see him about three months back in Salt Lake, I've been going to a few shows a month since I was young and his show with Lillie Mae was fuckin Magic. Absolutely incredible show, he was back this last month opening for Jack White but I didn't have the money to go. Really hoping I get to see him again in the near future. If you get the chance don't miss it

The acoustics in that room didn't do him justice. He's a hell of a performer. Ok they must have had real bright light on him too. I could sit and listen for hours....

I think it’s awesome that having only started out with the few chords his dad’s buddy taught him, it turned into a versatility and understanding of that fret board. Try as I may and pray as I might for nimble fingers on the Six string; I find the language of melody can only be learned through the intimacy of time. I appreciate Tyler’s format and real approach. I really liked this interview if that’s whatcha wanna call it. Tyler is a character and I appreciate the texture in a world full of cookie cuts.

I’m know his stuff isent complicated as a guitar player, but that’s exactly what’s good about it! That being said what is better is the perfect rhythm! His voice is an instrument fur sure!

He is still only playing just the same few chords he is just doing a lot with a little. Lots of embellishments and hammer on's. Lot's of feeling as well.

His great uncle from Dayton, Ohio. My hometown. My family is from Floyd County KY, coal miners who came to Dayton for work in the 60s. The East KY Southwest OH connection is powerful.

He comes really close to the same passion but when they played unplugged in NewYork kurt had the most passion i have ever heard. Especially in the last verse, it gives me chills watching it. Being from Pike County, KY, then moving to Lawrence County, KY and working everywhere from Florida to Massachusetts to Colorado. I've noticed everywhere I go, people talk with a funny accent. That is until I get back home to Eastern Kentucky. And people talk normal.
