Tyler Durden is one of the protagonists of the famous movie Fight Club. The film, which is directed by David Fincher, is based on the same name novel by Chuck Palahniuk.
Fight Club is not a film about fighting or some ordinary fight club, Fight Club is a film about the life you really want to live, and sacrifice, pain, challenges, and difficult roads to get there.
The point is…
Stop being a copy. Don’t do business that you don’t want, don’t buy things you don’t need, don’t try to be something you’re not. Change the things in your life, do it without fear of failure, risk, mediocrity and ridicule. Don’t be afraid to be different from others and most importantly, don’t be afraid to be yourself.

I live fight club. During winter I jump into a freezing cold pool to remind myself about the fragility of comfort. the thing is, that we might all agree whith tyler durden, but we will never share his lifestyle because we are too afraid of losing our safety. like, we don't want to be free. we all love the movie and think of it as an Inspirational peace but we'll never change anything

@@TetraSamurai Maybe - but it would be so refreshing. some say that George Romero when he made night of the living dead, wasn´t thinking about the dead as we do. The Zombies are already here. You see them everyday - and when you look into a mirror. When I was deployed I saw some horrible shit - but I had never and haven´t since then felt so alive as when the fear and adrenaline rushed through the body during an intense firefight.

i always hated that tyler was portrayed as the antagonist and the narrator as the protagonist. he wanted project mayhem to succeed on some level if he didn't tyler wouldn't exist. the only reason he tried to stop it was because he knew if he didn't he'd completely lose himself to tyler, which is fair enough i dont think anyone would want to become a voice in your own head.
@dartmada9733
@dartmada9733 8 жыл бұрын
+marcmurray1 actually I read that Tyler Durden is Narrator's real original personality and that in a way the narrator was the REAL alternate created as a result of consumerism and conformity. at some point in his life, the original 'Tyler' personality became supressed because of the pressures of society and the Narrator was created to fall in line and became the dominant personality. later as the pressures and frustrations of his hollow wage - slavery life started to get to him, he got insomnia and the Tyler personality started to reemerge as a way to get out of it. all of tyler 's goals and ideals are really his own on a subconscious level
@warcraftfan5
@warcraftfan5 8 жыл бұрын
Dart Mada That makes an awful lot of sense. That's an interesting implication in real-life terms as well...most if not all people would probably have a repressed Tyler-like personality inside them that actually represents what they feel and believe deep down.

No Fear. No Distractions. Changed my life forever. I rarely even come back to Fight club because if you get obsessed with how tyler looked and what was his looks you are doing it wrong. You don't have to be tyler Imagine yourself as the guy he was about to shot and gave him only 6 weeks to get to his dream .. I am so afraid of heights I went Hiking and I was freaking out I told myself you have 6 weeks to work otherwise you will be here in 6 weeks. Walking home I played and played and played 6 different clips legendary ones. When home I turned my phone off .. there was No Distraction, No fear .. I had the best dinner in my life and I came to knew my version of Tyler Durden. Also I changed every Rule of fight Club I am saying it here because you are the boys don't spread 1/ You do not talk about how's your life 2/You DO NOT complain about your life and talk about your plans. 3/when everything feels like not doing it don't push it. And fuck Breaks all the way or no way. 4/have one enemy to eliminate it can be anything 5/ one plan at a time Fellas 6/ you don't need to be completely ready.. you don't need to work by their standards 7/as long as you are alive you have to fight 8/if you are born then you play .. if this is the first time you've got to fight.

Just look at my pal. He's 30 and he has 5 pair of jeans good enough to go out, 3 casual and 2 for suit jacket. He buys new when old is too old to war and usually he uses old suit jacket ones as casual ones (than they use worn out for stuff like garden or trips). He also has 2 pair of casual shoes and one trekking which he uses as winter shoes. He has 2 suit jacket as he has to. After years of convincing he bought running shoes. Having more is waste of space and money for him.

The whole point of fight club was a satire on the idea of letting go of society, fight club and project mayhem are all about giving up establishment and being free, but they're both based on a list of rules. You aren't allowed to ask questions about project mayhem or talk about fight club but the people still do. The narrator calls Marla a big tourist even though he's doing the same thing. The whole movie is based on the idea that America is dominated by corporations and the government but it's chocked full of product placements. It's a movie about hypocrisy and it tricked everyone into believing a bullshit idea that you have to free yourself from establishment.
@TetraSamurai
@TetraSamurai 7 жыл бұрын
ben sturr no you dumbass, Tyler specifically made the first two rules of fight club so that they would be broken on purpose. Product placement is just a way to increase your profit, has nothing to do with the movie. He calls Marla a tourist before he even met Tyler so that's irrelevant.

Reverse psychology, he wanted his ideology to spread. Making people spread an ideology for you is very hard, unless you explicitly tell them not to. Telling them not to speak ANYTHING about fight club to ANYONE, not once, but TWICE, in a code of rules, will have the opposite effect, it will make people talk about it and spread it.
@ilovehonglong
@ilovehonglong 6 жыл бұрын
You’re not old enough to understand it. The film is not about freeing yourself from establishment. It’s about freeing yourself from all the unnecessary labels from the society, like how much you have in bank, what kinds of clothes do I own so that I can tell others that I got the fashion sense, etc. It’s about giving up all the extrinsic motivation like material possession, social recognition and chasing what’s really means sth to the inner you, like love, doing what you like, your dream.

The truly weird thing about these wonderfully "framed" quotes from this fantastic movie is that they're UTTERLY biblical, from the standpoint of unbridled Grace. Even the blunt force trauma assaults on God's Character have a ring of truth if (as they are in the context of the movie) they're considered as being proffered by the unelected. A damn fine piece of artistry. Thank you.

I agree with a lot of Fight Club quotes but you cant teach this stuff to people. They have to learn for themselves. And the majority of the world has at least one of thier eyes closed. Better not to try and train others and just go with YOUR experience of life. Still nothing wrong with making others aware of the possibilities and letting them decide for themselves.

Sheeple watch this movie and the message flies right over their head. They left the theater thinking "movie sucked, didn't have enough fighting/action.
