I watched the full version of this interview, and it really opened my eyes. Not to say I understand completely what Tyler is going through, but even through his songs you can see his continual doubt in his Faith and what it is that he truly believes. This part of the interview has me curious as to what Tyler means when he say he doesn't believe the same things as his parents. He could be referring to the culture Christianity has created (The Industry and the hypocrisy that's often seen) and his rebuttal against it, or possibly his parents were part of another denomination that didn't believe in the full bible, or if he has only taken bits and pieces of what he wants and designed his own belief. I would really like to know the full truth of what he really believes. However nothing he would say would change my respect and appreciation for him as a person and the beautiful art he creates. I think as a society we need to focus less on the differentiations in denominations, and more on the fact that no matter what, we are God fearing people with the same goal and that's to reach people with the Gospel and the life changing love of Jesus. When you go to a different country and realise that christianity is unheard of or illegal you join forces with the people you have around you that want to win people for Gods kingdom whether or not you think they are as theologically sound as you. They are still doing what we are called to do on this earth; And that's to go forth and make disciples of all nations. And in a way Tyler is doing this by reaching an entirely different group of people that otherwise wouldn't have heard of the gospel in any other form. He is also reaching those who are battling with their Faith and what to believe. Nothing on the Christian radio station is as deep as Tyler Joseph, and nothing on the christian radio or in churches begins to touch the subjects TyJo does. I think we ought to be glad that someone is doing this, because nobody else will. To most of the Christian population these issues are swept under the rug and not talked about like they should be. God has blessed Tyler and Josh and they in return have been a blessing. I truly believe God is using them in the public to eye to get the message across that true christians aren't perfect and we don't expect anyone to be.

Lol!! It's awesome isn't it. I'll bite for Message Man. I think the few who understand is fewer than we (including myself) would guess. So in light of that, careful with both the message and the message man. Also I note a continued exhortation not to be asleep (Car Radio ref?). My new question on the song would be why the throw back ("I'm wanted and on the run") to The Run and Go where he says he's "killed a man"? Would it be the same image as in his earliest music, Drown?

Wait, I read a reply on a comment in here talking about how maybe his parents are religious, but he has a _relationship_ with God. And I definitely see how there's a difference, but I don't think I understand the difference, so could someone explain? I'm a Christian, but I've been struggling for a while, and I want to have faith, so I'm just curious to hear the difference. Thanks.☺😊
@silver2925 жыл бұрын
Great question @Flute Loops! I think the major difference, in my opinion, is thinking what is at the very CORE of faith. What motivates it? What drives it? Is it traditions? Like, oh I attend church every sunday or during the holidays. Or something else like a set of Christian ethics/behavior. Example "Oh I'm not going to have sex before marriage". A lot of people would say those things are at the very CORE of what being a Christian is and I would call those people 'religious'. But if the CORE of your faith and what motivates and drives it is experiencing a friendship and connection with Jesus, experiencing his love and closeness, interacting with him, hearing his voice, and also feeling like he is also listening to you, then THAT would be having a relationship with God. Interestingly enough Jesus says himself that he is MUCH more interested in us knowing him and him know us than in our behavior and traditions being the core of our faith in him. Matthew 7:21-23 says this "Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!"
@fluteloopsyd5 жыл бұрын
@@silver292 Ohhh, that makes sense.😮 So can you be in a relationship and be religious at the same thing, or no? Also, thanks for replying.😊☺
@silver2925 жыл бұрын
@@fluteloopsyd No problem. Yeah I think we can be religious and have a relationship with God. Definitely. But the way I have lived is that my relationship with God MOTIVATES my religious actions and practices. So I don't steal things. But at the core of that, the reason why I don't steal something is because I know God would be pretty gutted if I did. He tells me to love others as he has loved me and it would be damaging to our relationship if I started to steal. Or another example. I love my wife and try to be as kind with her as possible. Again. Not because "I'm a Christian so I HAVE to do that," but because I know that God has designed and called me to live a certain way, and so, to respect and honor him by respecting and honoring my wife, I treat her with love and kindness. So it's all about what motivates you. My relationship with God, MOTIVATES my good deeds. My good deeds don't motivate my relationship with God! It's all about relationship and transparency and authenticity with God. That's part of the reason why I love twenty one pilots so much. You can see in their lyrics that they are constantly having very real, authentic and sometimes painful discussions with God. But that's what all real relationships are right. Being honest with each other. And that's what I believe God wants with us as well. That we can talk to him about anything. Even, as Tyler says, the doubts and questions we have about life and him. Haha. Sorry about the massive post! LOL.

This band was great for me. I know God was helping me with their music. I just hope Tyler asks God to show Him the truth of the Bible, because after God showed me, I can say without a doubt how true the Word of God is and when people say it's up to interpretation, they just try to either understand it or they want what it says to fit their false narrative. If we have doubts or questions of any kind we can always take them to God. He will answer immediately or when you need it. He always knows, He speaks, and He's so amazing. He's a great father and I love Him so much. The only thing about TOP now is the weird pagan vibes I got with one of their videos. Not saying their pagan, but when people don't follow what God's word says they can create an idol that has characteristics of the god they want to believe in, and not the one true God. By that I mean if that's what happened then that could be what affects the story behind the albums. If Tyler believes in God the way He actually is, then he could be influenced in other ways. Even he may not realize what's happening to his music. If it gets any darker he will be in trouble. If it gets better, well praise God. Also we have to realize that the devil is real too and influences us daily. If we don't stay vigilant and aware of what's going in our heads, evil can cause so much darkness. We must he aware of what we read, watch, and listen to. Most of the music industry is falling away into darkness and confusion. I hope TOP stays true and doesn't do the same. I love all of you, God bless and be safe. Always ask God what is what. No matter what it is, we can't always go on feelings, but the truth of God's word. It's hard for me too, but we must do this, because evil is getting more and more obvious yet people are growing more and more blind. One day this society will be liberal in all things. Sex drugs, greed, murder, abuse, homosexuality, gender confusion, and more. It will seem like unity, but it will be chaos and people will indulge like never before. Don't fall into it or fall for it. It is the big move before the final deception. Lean on God's understanding and stay in the Word. Put on the full armor of God and guard your heart, mind, and soul. A lot of what TOP talks about and writes about is happening. Don't give into society's sinful transformation, or you will be ensnared and against God. Remember Babylon, Sodom and Gomorrah, and the flood. They were a generation who were lovers of all evil. It's the same, we're repeating the same sinful mistakes. Jesus is returning and we must be awake and ready my friends.

I don’t believe in god. I don’t believe in any religion. But this still means a lot. But I don’t know how I’m supposed to feel about the music that is about god.

There is only one TRUTH! Jesus is the only way, truth, and the life. You cannot be a Christian and blur the lines. I pray he becomes truly saved and God will give him the wisdom to know what real worship is to God.

He didn’t say anything about different or multiple truths. He said FAITH. We’re to work out OUR OWN faith with fear & trembling! If you don’t think he worships God, please listen to “Twenty-Nine” by Tyler Joseph & Whitaker.

@@connerroberts8992 Right, he doesn't necessarily, but he does have alot of spiritual references in his songs, at least what I notice and a handful of others.

@@connerroberts8992 man, check out their earlier albums+the whole concept of Trench. The guys are very sincere in their music, and it's pretty Christian :) If they labeled their music as "Christian", a big amount of people just wouldnt find it interesting to listen to it, and it would put a limit to the band's creativity - now they can talk on any topic they want
