Mea culpa is Latin, and loosely translates to “ I’m at fault” or even more colloquially, “My bad”. That’s why I’m not mad at how bad it was, because it was my fault for watching it. The entire movie was one gigantic MY BAD. Black female lawyers need to band together to sue this nukka for this trash ass portrayal of our profession.

I watched it last night & had several takes on the film that in my opinion is worst than a tubi movie: 1.) The 2 main characters are terrible actors. 2.) There was basically no plot 3.) The sex scene is absolutely terrible [ who fantasizes about having sex in paint] 4.) So then after a terribly acted movie the finale is so out there that it's laughable [ this woman who weighs 100 lbs soaking wet beats the hell out of 2 men & leaves without a scratch]
@antoinettechevalier24537 ай бұрын
I’m probably one of the few people in America who can say this, but even at my big age, I had never seen a Tyler Perry movie - until Mea Culpa. Boy, was I disappointed! The script was horrible: all kinds of holes in the plot (& barely a plot to begin with), poor dialog, no follow-through on seemingly key issues of the murder investigation, questionable acting in some instances, pacing was all off (too slow at points, then too rushed when there should have been a slow boil) … whew!!! I don’t know if I’ll be tuning into another Tyler Perry production.

The DA brother was going to use the case as a platform to run for mayor. If there was a highly publicized court case that brought so much paparazzi, then the police would have also been called to the scene. In all police dramas, detectives, photographers, forensic specialists come out to build the case. Blood and specimen are tested at labs and verified by specialists. How did so much blood soak through the floor and into neighbors house? Where did they get brain matter with her DNA? How in the world could they have faked that without involving so many critical people and then think to use it as a landmark case and keep it a secret at the same time? You can get one person to lie for you-but ten? How was killing her at their house and killing his wife with their kids in the house a great move for his getting elected for mayor? Even if it was self defense it would be too suspicious and would contaminate his run for mayor. The logic was an absolute NO!!!!!
@MrzBadaBing7 ай бұрын
EXACTLY!! She literally told jimmy where she was . The blood and skull fragments found was the chick who was still alive , how ? The motive was so the guy can run for mayor??? All this mess for that? Then they kill the poor friend . They were gonna ask where she was . How they gonna fake this womens cancer eventually she would have to die lmao makes no sense . Ms. Pinky.. You definitely went easy on the review of that terrible movie lol.. sooo many holes in that script.. the acting was flat for most of it.. it was slow for at least an hour and a half and I personally didn’t see any chemistry between the 2 main characters especially chemistry that would lead to them having relations that Mea could lose her license for.. also with mea being a lawyer I didn’t see much lawyer-ing if any at all .. and how do they fake having all that DNA all over the apartment if she’s still alive.. they found SKULL FRAGMENTS.. I could go on and on.. Mr. Perry for sure needs help with his writing, some collaboration or something because he is struggling with writing scripts that makes sense

The scene with the neighbor walking in pretty much turned me off from the film. First, the SA, making her watch him engaging in the act. Then after he forced her to watch, we're supposed to believe that she was hot for him and went back upstairs for her turn? She's his attorney!!!! Not to mention, this guy is getting down and around too much for me to be grieving the disappearance of his girlfriend "that he truly loved." A whole mess.

I love what she said about people with anxiety being prone to watching the same thing over and over again . I never knew that, but it makes total sense for myself and my grandma. As stereotypical, and as predictable as Tyler Perry’s movies are, I will always love his movies. There is a space for everything. there is a space for anticipation and there’s a space for predictability. I don’t care for the constant trying to tear Tyler Perry’s work down from the black community. . Tyler Perry brought the plate of the black woman to the surface for everybody to look at it and have to confront it, and I will always be grateful for that. if we have an issue with his work, constantly making stereotypical movies then how about we as a community bring up more directors support more directors invest in more directors so that they don’t have to go and beg Hollywood for funding and be rejected
