He's so unimaginative he can't think of a way to introduce characters, plot lines, or narratives w/o his usual, tired bag of tropes. I think he makes everyone lawyers bc it's an easy shortcut to #1 introduce his characters to people they otherwise might never meet, #2 an easy way to explain wealth and a flexible schedule, and #3 automatic character assumptions based on what the audience already generally knows abt lawyers (smart, assertive, clever, duplicitous, et al). He doesn't have to spend as much time developing them further so he can rush through the script.

It's not as wild as you'd think unfortunately... It's probably more common than you're comfortable knowing (I mean it is for me) for anesthesiologists to be alcoholics or have some kind of drug problem, because it is a *harrowing* job. A lot of surgeries are *long,* and that's not even including prep, the process of bringing a patient down and back up safely, and they have to monitor everything the entire time. Sometimes (whether because of miscalculation or just the way a patient responds) the patient will wake up on the table, and if they stay that way for long everyone is *fucked.* Or they can sink under *just a little too far,* and then different adjustments need to be made or everyone is *fucked.* But most of the time it's incredibly boring and they just have to stay awake and alert for hours on end, like the night time security guard at an office complex watching 18 different monitors showing complete stillness. Understandable, but also understandably a one-way ticket to blacklist-ville and the total destruction of your career if it's found out that a patient died while you were wasted. At least... *ideally.* I mean, that's what you'd hope....

My parents once knew an anesthesiologist who was very addicted to crack. This person would work all day at the hospital, then do drugs all night, and return to work in the morning without any sleep. This is definitely not an uncommon problem in the medical field, which is pretty scary when you think about how much you're trusting this person with your life 😬. But yeah an anesthesiologist getting high on anesthesia is actually not something I've heard of before though and is kinda an odd choice considering they could have made this character addicted to literally anything else lol.

This movie made me so angry. I am so tired of overly dramatic, sloppy, incoherent and stereotypical (especially when it comes to black women) movies from Mr. Perry. I'm a painter and I also work as a gallery manager for a blue-chip art gallery. First of all, NO gallery would stand so strong behind an artist (unless the artist was like the gallerist's best friend from childhood or something). A gallery is pretty much a PR firm. A gallery gets a cut on the artist's work by doing communication and publicity (which in the art world means something else than regular publicity, but basicly art exhibitions at galleries are ads/commercials in a way). Yet, unlike a PR Agency, a gallery has to maintain a very specific image in itself. A bad artist could drag down the image of the other artists they represent. So keeping an artist that gets so much hate would be ridiculous. (Don't get me wrong, galleries stand behind rapists and racist all the time. But it's because there's not as much outrage, saddly. If people were protesting this hard, and the publicity was this bad, they wouldnt) Second, NO ONE protests in front of a gallery. Museums, and such, yes!! People protest a lot of times in front of these! But a commercial gallery? Never.

It was established the loft had stairs but she was also able to take the elevator up to the loft unannounced, I understand that he cut power to it or something when he was forcing her to watch him get oral but when she’s screaming at him to start the elevator, she just rode it up herself, there’d be no reason he would’ve cut power to it cuz he didn’t know she was coming and it’s been established that you can start the elevator from inside it several times… and the button is supposed to be up in his room so why was she screaming start the elevator instead of just doing it herself?

I just need Tyler Perry to leave black women alone. I’ve said for years that all his movies are: successful black woman wronged by a man/men - her life falls apart - his usually gets better - somehow her downfall is her fault and not the men’s. And now he literally names a movie about the fall of a black woman “Mea Culpa.” Somebody’s gotta get him a discount code for BetterHelp so he can heal.

Maybe it’s because I haven’t watched all of his movies, but I feel like Tyler Perry’s plot lines very often include punishing a woman and/or a female “villain”
@syncopation08 ай бұрын
He punishes "misbehaving" women. By misbehaving women, I mean women who are married to or dating well-intentioned but chronically broke, struggling, lazy, uninspiring, unambitious men. At some point, these women get tired of these men and either cheat on them or just leave them. The man eventually gets his crap together and the women get AIDS or die some other horrible death. That's a typical TP "drama/ thriller." The typical Madea movie is a whole other animal. Equally sexist and problematic. But there's more comedy and Jesus in those films.
