I have to acknowledge that there is a culture of hating within our community. I fell in line with that negativity. Sadly I use to trash this brilliant brother Tyler Perry. I would talk down about him and his movies to my mother and fathers and my family whenever they would come to visit us and bring them. Turns out I was only clowning myself in their eyes. I had developed self hatred from growing up in all white neighborhoods/private schools. As an adult I feel so ashamed a how I behaved. I'm grateful that now as an adult I have learned to help embrace, support my people and our hero's/business. Tyler is paving the way for black excellence for years to come.

This man is absolutely phenomenal. He is the definition of endurance. His movies have impacted me in tough times of my life. As a single mother at the time when his movies were out - they were the only movies I would go to the theaters and walk away feeling uplifted and not feel alone. I applaud his sacrifice, vision, and heart. He is highly favored and it shows in his fruit.
