This one was a good one but the others do get a bit shifty. He's a very talented man with a clear vision of what Urban television should be like for people of colour and everyone in general. However he is overstretched himself on the whole project. He needs to delegate certain creative responsibilities. For starters an army of writers and casters who share his vision. I have high hopes for his vision.

You people are just mad that tyler perry is everywhere and he won't stop. He made a 100 million this year alone. His secret is that his film budgets usually don't exceed 10 or 20 million which allows him to always profit off of every single movie. With this kind of business plan he can never really lose money.Tyler Perry is the only filmmaker in history to have five films open #1 at the box office in the last five years beating out the likes of Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorcese, James Cameron and Quentin Tarantino. He's winning in every way people whether you like him or not.
@Seargent36310 жыл бұрын
Except awards, films that will be talked about years to come,and or advancing the art form. Having a number 1 film at the box office is unimportant in the grand scheme of things and just because something is popular or turns a profit does not mean it is good.
@basketballgod279110 жыл бұрын
I agree I think he needs to focus on serious movies with good scripts and he's worth so much he needs to hire script writers instead of trying to write every movie himself. He has a good creative mind and i think finding the right people to work with will make him a better actor and movie producer.
@AdventuresOfMinty10 жыл бұрын
Brando Williams He can do whatever he wants, clearly he's making money off these movies and perhaps that's his only goal - to make cash. Not every film maker "needs" to have this moral obligation to be the next "stephen king" or something along that lines. lol.

I don't know why are judging or hating the movie? And you didn't even watched it. I can tell you that this movie is really good, i liked it a lot because it shows you the other side. "If people only knew what single moms go through" That's the truth. My mom is a single mom, my dad is a bastard who ruined our lives and is trying to do it even now when he's out of our lives. So i get the movie, i get those moms and i just want them to be strong and to never give up because you're fighting for your kids who should be the most important thing in the world. And know that it's gonna be ok! Be brave and don't let anyone breaks you. Stay strong! And for single fathers, i want the same.

Just a question...for those who don't like Tyler perry, are u upset cause he has not written a movie specifically for you? Is it that his movies outside of the with iris elba, are about women overcoming issues and situations at the expense of the male characters? I'm asking cause I don't get the hate? If u don't like it, don't watch it. I'm a single father...yes a black single father, and I find some of his movie ok and few I don't like. But I can say he has grown as a writer and as a director. I think this what u get when ur the whole show. It's his visions, not urs or mine. When u have ur own studio and etc...then u can make the movies u wanna see. Smh at how people on KZbin is so critical yet I don't see no work from them. Ps...His movies are written for his fan...

Eric..thanks for having the cool head that prevails...from what I am seeing in the trailer is a comedic exposition of what it takes to be a Single Mom...not exalting it or downing men...obvious the women have and want men in their lives...but just giving the perspective of the triumphs along with the failures...I think there is a great deal of 'crabs in the barrel' mentality...and the best way for us to overcome this is to be able to be happy for the successes of a black men who had to make it on his own...no Hollywood assistance and to not forget that all of H'wood has been catering to a niche audience forever but no one complained but when a bm does so he gets clawed and scratched from his own race and the others...now that really makes me SMH...here's hoping that he only continues to do well then better..perfects his craft and allows his scope to grow.

I'm glad someone is embracing and acknowledging single motherhood. Not saying that it is right, nor am I saying it is wrong depending on who you are, but America act so damn blind to the fact that there are single mothers out there, and some chose to be. Stop denying that we all are different, and embrace one another for who we are. Life happens, but people shouldn't beat people up because life happen to them. Life happens to you too.

You can't possibly know completely who you are unless you get a gene test because all of our history is distorted. So, stop!!! And, even then it is made up so researchers can again categorize but so many are so damn ignorant that you run with it. It is okay, for you, yourself to desire to identify yourself, but if white and black was thrown out today it would set a damn bomb off to you people. ugh!

***** No, I'm not a baby mama, never have been, never will be. I'm a single mother, that is who I am. There is no baby daddy in my picture. There is no glorified statement, but acknowledgement, and honestly, like I always say, everyone is entitled to their opinion, including you, but I am embraced by my family, children, God, my friends, my significant other, and those who know me, none of those people included you, so the only one irrelevant is you. And, it shows your importance because you trying to call me a name and you do not even know me, fact, plus, you actually thought I cared if you embraced me or not. I'm sorry, I don't care about your no thanks. Aww!
@jenniferpeterson911510 жыл бұрын
***** You're an idiot! It's not the single mothers that are the issue it's the deadbeats that walk out on their children! The relationship doesn't work for one reason or another that is BOTH their fault, but for a parent to walk out on a child? That is the parent WHO WALKED OUTS fault. The parent still there, struggling to make ends meet, not complaining just doing what has to be done are NOT the ones to blame. But they are the ones who get it. Even *if* a woman IS a baby momma, some guy out there had fun making her one! that guy, who left, bears just as much responsibility for that child's lot in life as she does. Why do single moms get the blame? Because we are easy to identify. The man who left, is not. I always find it funny how single dads are celebrated,embraced but single moms are spit on. Like they are in any different of a situation or are somehow better because they are male?

I have a degree in English and Mass Communications. I hate it when ppl say "it's just a movie." Words and images have impact on how ppl feel, respond, and act. That is why the advertising industry is a multi-billion dollar industry. It IS important how ppl are portrayed in music, film, TV, literature and other artistic expressions because these are the mechanisms ppl respond to more strongly in order to judge a particular ppl regardless of how much we try to tell ppl that "you shouldn't judge all ppl." But humans are judgmental, no matter how much you tell ppl "don't judge." That's human behavior 101.

All these people saying single mothers are nothing but monsters, or how much they're a leech to society, but this movie shows that there are single mother's out there TRYING to make better for their kids because they know they've fucked up. Not all black women love thugs, and not all single women with kids are on welfare and are just god awful gold diggers. I live with my mother, a single mother; she has a degree and makes six figures with two kids alone. People put these stereotypes on other because they don't even know... this whole movie is showing that there is more out there than the stereotype, but people always judge at first glance...

Bcuz789Duh Tyler Perry knows he has a strong foothold in the black audience so he makes movies that attract primarily black, church going, single women. He stays within his comfort zone and doesn't seem to want to venture out of it. I respect him as a business man and for giving black actors more roles; but if he wants to be respected as a writer/director he should stop converting all his plays to films, and explore some new territory.
@maurice622710 жыл бұрын
jed52 : He can't nor he shouldn't. They always say write what you know. Tyler Perry is just writing what he knows. He probably doesn't know stuff like Horror or Fantasy too well. Same thing would go for crime movies. Tyler sells something he knows is guaranteed to sell. Why try to do something he can't? I will agree with the fact that his writing needs to get better, and he needs to stop putting himself in his movies.
@MegaCondemned10 жыл бұрын
Maurice Hill Why write something he can't? That's the thing, he hasn't tried hard enough. He hasn't taken the risk. The guy is a millionaire, he's not losing anything if he fails. He needs to venture out of he should or wants to get that attention from the crowd he wants. I'm going to agree with jed52
@maurice622710 жыл бұрын
No. If he doesn't know stuff like Fantasy or crime, he shouldn't change his genres. What he should do is make his writing quality better. That's the only thing Tyler Perry should do. He just can't write what he doesn't know, but he can write better what he does know.

***** Tyler Perry already created a "Single Father's Club." It was called "Daddy's Little Girls." But the story was overly unrealistic. If you've been staying up with current events, you would see that the law punishes fathers at just about every turn and unfavorably gives all rights to a child to the mother by default. The only exception is if the mother is a known drug addict and/or has a serious record where the father does not. Relationships today don't work because of a few reasons: 1. They weren't mature enough to handle it (either one or both). 2. Unrealistic and hypocritical expectations (mostly women with their Christmas list of what they want in a man, yet they don't bring anything of value to the table. And if sex and looks is all a woman can offer, she is vastly delusional) 3. In a relationship for the wrong reasons (One good reason is to impress their friends) 4. Narcissistic Personality Disorder (women and guys that think they are God's gift to women) 5. Feminism 6. Women that wants all the good parts of a traditional relationship/marriage, but none of the other parts. They pick and choose like a salad bar. They are the first to sit at the dinner table with a knife and fork, but don't want to tend to the fields to get the food in the first place 7. Princess/Queen mentality 8. Peer pressure 9. Envy 10. Celebrity worship Lastly, the same issues doesn't apply to single fathers, because there are no help groups to help fathers. Where is the shelter for battered fathers and children? When police come for a domestic violence dispute, who do they tell to leave the house? The guy based off of sexist reasons. What this movie wont address fairly is how all these fathers are being railroaded by vindictive mothers. What you aren't hearing is the thousands of fathers committing suicide because the mother took their children away. Or the fact that violence and feminine behavior among youth and boys have skyrocketed since the feminist movement. Or the fact that Feminism was funded by the Government to undermine the Civil Rights Movement. As Feminism gained traction, Black owned businesses started disappearing one by one as more and more Black families began to break up all of a sudden. You have to do a bit of research as to why people are sick of the idea of single mothers being something positive across the board. There is nothing positive about being a single parent period. And there is nothing noble about a woman finding a man to take care of their own kids either. If you are a parent, own up to the decisions you make. Taking care of your own kids is not something to applaud either. That's what you are suppose to do regardless of the situation. Nobody applauds another person for every breath they take or every glass of water they drink. You are suppose to breathe. You are suppose to drink. What we have in today's society is a narcissistic epidemic and it has infiltrated every aspect of life. And this movie like others caters to it for a specific demographic just like "Waiting to Exhale" did.
I am telling the world I am so madly in love with this man Tyler Perry! OHHHHHHHHH! Just saw "The Single Moms Club," Oh man! Tyler has done it again! I am at a lost for words! This man knows women! Thank you Tyler! Can you and I go out? :-) Just asking, lol

I think this is a beautiful movie. Its the best movie in 2014. Tyler Perry is a good producer and very good actor. Whats with the negativity, thats why all of you are not Movie producers and not even actors. Go see the movie and stop flapping your gums.

leave TYLER PERRY alone, i see no harm in his work, he is inspiring women all over the world.. if you people don't like his work just don't watch..

Inspiring women to be single mothers for profit is evil. Tlyer plays on womens feel good emotions to make millions while perpetuating the destruction of the black family

Why can't Tyler Perry make a movie about a loving two-parent household? Instead he makes a film that caters to single moms and tells them that having kids out of wedlock is heroic and noble. I wish our society would promote mothers & fathers not baby mamas & daddies.
@martymar7410 жыл бұрын
There's no money in that. He'd rather pander to a segment of society that doesn't accept fair criticism of their choices

Sounds like a lot of people, in particular, MEN, are really having an issue with Tyler and the success that he's having. For those of you who think that Tyler only caters to the struggles of women, I suggest you check out his movie "Daddy's Little Girls". If the sequel to this turns out to be "The Single Dad's Club", I don't wanna hear NOTHING from ya'll.

On the other hand everyone commenting in a negative sense why do you even waste your time making a statement... Indeed everyone is entitled tot heir own opinion and I am not saying you should not comment, but if you have so much animosity towards anything in general why waste your time participating in it in any way... I don't care for Jay Z so I just steer clear from whatever he involves himself in... That doesn't mean I have to indirectly criticize individuals that love his work or disgrace him... But to each its own :-)

This looks better than a Madea Christmas and Madea's Witness Protection. Every movie he has made has been pretty good except the last two Madea movies. I like the fact that he's making another movie with more races and appealing to a broader audience, because once you attract the people that supported you from the beginning, you can begin appealing to the ones that take more work.

I know ***** has a niche audience.... but at what point does his audience get offended?? This trailer was hard enough to sit through, without thinking.... "I'm sure everyone can see he's basically insulting his core audience"..... until I read all the comments on the trailer praising his work. Cant wait to NOT see this. #tylerperry #singlemomsclub #buffoonery #insultingwomenallthewaytothebank
