I might be wrong on him being in a category of his own but Tyler is a jack of all trades.. he makes the beats, he does the characters and he stick to that until his next album, he directs his music videos, he come up the concepts, one underrated thing bout him.. he knows how to pick his features and make them sound like they were supposed to be on that song.. Tyler is a star.. and I don’t like that tier list bs 🤦🏽‍♂️ its ruins the dialogue between the fans!!

This is my very first album of Tyler and I have to admit I was missing out. Tyler is a artist and I appreciate his artistry. He has a new fan in me and I’m very hard to shift. Outside of Kendrick being me favorite rapper, I usually listen to faith base hip hop. Lecrae and 1.1,Six. Tyler is a very special artist and so glad I gave his music a chance. It’s been on repeat since it came out. 💯🔥❤️

Im not a Tyler stan at all, but on first listen, the album is dope. I think sonically it is a mesh of todays hiphop and early 2000 sound mixed with Jazz, soulful harmonies, and funk. You can clearly hear how he is truly inspired by Pharrell and Kanye, added with raw subject matter within the bars. If you are comparing Tyler to Uzi, respectfully in my opinion your out of touch with music, and sound. Uzi sound is heavy and flooded with 808 beats and rock influences. Its one thing to listen to album and another to skim right through it and its apparent some of yall didnt listen to it. Not sure why my mans said he wouldnt listen to it for hiphop, like than your saying Tribe Called Quest isnt hiphop? Because their beat was made with similar formula, Your saying De La Soul isnt hiphop, your saying Brand Nubian, Rakim, your saying Common,,Roots, Fugees, Pharcyde, which all have incorporated soul, funk, electronic, with samples into their hiphop sound.

Tyler Is the better artist musically, Cole is the better artist, but overall he’s not that dynamic of an artist like Drake, Kendrick, or Tyler. Drake is simple but he checks more boxes on a larger scale, good or bad.

I see what he meant tho there’s the clear Big 3 superstars in rap (S Tier) and there’s like 4 or 5 guys that in that A Tier and I think that would be Tyler, Uzi, Future, Travis, Durk and Gunna (in terms of their stardom not necessarily how good their actual music)

I was never a big fan of Tyler in the beginning I would even go as far as saying I didn’t fuck with Tyler at all in the Goblin Cherry Bomb eras. But his latest works have propelled him into undisputed top tier status. He’s bigger than J.Cole and Uzi not even close sonically stylistically and as far as consistency goes. He team is all stars and he doesn’t do nothing corny for clicks

Not saying this as a negative for Tyler, but this album feels like a mix of cherrybomb CMYIYGL & Igor. I don’t think Tyler production wise stepped out of his normal production style which just shows these guys don’t /haven’t taken in his discography.

I know if it's just that Joe is jaded with the industry but he's bugging with his review of this album. Chromakopia is a really good album. My two favorite albums this year so far have been Blue lips & Chromakopia because they're refreshing with their content and Production. Plus nothing else on the market sounds like those albums.

Yeah gotta agree with a lot of the comments. Tyler is bigger than Uzi (no shade to him). He's up there with Cole, Kendrick, and Drake in terms kf musicality, impact and business (maybe even ahead). People just dont want to put him in that category bc you could make a case that it's a bit more alternative hiphop and hardcore straight BM aint all the way there yet IMO

@ 1) Call me If I get lost is a better as a hip hop album, then any of Cole's albums not named Friday Night Lights(considered a mixtape but we all know that's an album) 2) 2014 is becoming one of the most overrated hip hop albums of all time. Half the album is great, the other half is largely forgettable. That album lives and dies with January 28th, No Rope Modelz and Apparently.

If he cared, he should have rapped bro, it's that simple. Brothers have real fights about real issues and it's still love. Dissing your friends career or discography isn't a friendship ending move. And furthermore, for J. Cole fans, he talked about this moment his entire career, the braggadocio raps, constant GOAT talk, and then he renigged on all of it. I can't be a Cole fan after that. At least Drake stood, fought back, and took an L, that's more honorable. Way more honorable.

Cole was literally the crybaby rapper complaining how Jay never shout him out and how he disappointed Nas. Between that and the cringe losing your virginity song I could never see him as the “goat” anyone else saw him to be. Tyler in the Big 3 over Cole is weird, I've listened to both since they're Mixtapes and I know a lot of people haven't really listened to Tyler's first 3 albums and Bastard mixtape. There was a reason he was not put in the big 3. They were good albums but definitely not music that says top 5 rapper. Cole had The Warm Up, The Come Up, and Friday Night Lights, that pretty much put him on the path to being Big 3 and cemented it with 2014 Forest Hill Drive. Tyler's first album that truly caught traction was Flower Boy in 2017, but Igor gave him pop star-esque status.

@sw33tialucard on what bases, because if its sales Eminem is over both them in the last 10 -12 years. If its bars, then Cole is over Tyler, but there are better lyricist than them, Kendrick and Drake too, who are not mentioned. Popularity then Travis Scott clears both them, and Kendrick, losingvonly to Drake. Who we know is on the downswing after Kdot cooked him.

Fair. I'm not the biggest Tyler fan either, but this album hits for me. It's not necessarily a "riding around" album outside of a few songs, and that's ok. I don't need every project to be a "car album." With that said, for those who say this just isn't their cup of tea, I respect it. It's an acquired taste. I didn't "get" some of the production on my first couple spins either. And Tyler's "singing" definitely isn't for everybody lol.

Chill bro. I’ll bring out earl or Dino genesis and they could definitely give Jid a little competition

@FriskyDolphin This is weirdo's response. I am the consumer and the music is bad, nothing I have done or not changes that.

Thank you 🙏 also Travis Scott… I’m tired of these fake woke that can’t rap pretending to be hip hop but deep down want to be white sooo bad

Dude I agree with you. So many people want to seem like they know music but only regurgitate points that literally everyone is saying. “The production is great” fuck outta here with that I’m a hip hop fan idk what tf that shit is.

The album is about him being bi and having a baby and being selfish and finding out his dad wanted to be in his life. Just because it sounds weird and unique doesn’t make it good. Big Tyler fan here, it was mid

Tyler vulnerability on the album was great to hear.. it feels like he just accepting the way he is.. with not settling down with only 1 person and wanting his “love interests” to explore other things besides him.. and heavy thoughts on if he should start a family cuz he getting older.. and “though I was dead” was him standing on everything he said in the media.. but he put his mask down frfr!! And that last verse on “take off you mask” was different I never heard Tyler talk like that frfr lol.. he just sitting on his reality as a man!! Great Album 🔥

@@MichaelBrown-ti1un definitely agree with that.. I think it was a perfect time to have an album like this.. cuz he in his 30s and he showing people that he don’t always have the answers cuz he famous.. he being relatable as well.. imo I don’t think he in his prime rn. He got a couple more years to get there!!
