He’s a streamer he can literally spend the whole day practicing.Plus the reason all the top GM’s say you have to be a master when your a child is because when your an adult, being a chess player won’t pay the bills so you have to spend a lot of that time looking for/ working at a job.Tyler is richer than shit, loves the game and can play it for even more financial incentive.Tyler has enough time to catch up on the people playing their whole lives because he has more time.

The difference between a 1900 and a GM is the difference between a 99.5 percentile and a 99.997 percentile. He needs to go from a top 5/1000 skill level to a 3/100000 skill level. He's amazing but he's currently closer to a beginner than he is a GM. Not sure if anyone has ever gotten to GM picking up chess this late in life.

@@moongolow CM would still be a massive jump. That's 99.93 percentile territory. So top 7 out of a 10000 when he's currently top 50. I'm betting he ends around 2100 although CM is definitely possible. Honestly if he wants to dump another 5 years into it, I wouldn't even say FM is impossible. But the times required for each jump will only go up. And getting to GM would be record breaking.
@exapsy
@exapsy 2 ай бұрын
you should go above 2300 to even consider becoming GM. GothamChess has 2800 Blitz and still isn't a GM. Tyler1 is impressive, but he needs to go well above 1900. I'm not saying he won't, I'm saying 1900 is impressive but still not there for GM.

There are people who started Chess in their 20s and got up to 2200-2300 in FIDE rating. It is possible for T1 to get an IM norm, even if there is no precedent, he might be the first one ever to reach GM for someone who started in late 20s. Compared to others, he doesnt have to work after all.

Dude saying that nobody has ever jumped from 100 to 700 rating in chess.... Sometimes I am not sure if Gotham is serious or if he is just doing ego boosting. It happens every day with normal players. Just because it happened to a Streamer doesn't make him special. Same for his rating climb to 1800 tbh. It's cool but not that impressive as he has a 3% growth rate. He just plays a lot. He can do it literally all day unlike other ppl. It's not difficult with like 10000 games 😂
